OCBC Investment Research has cut its target price for Singapore's Breadtalk, which sells bread and pastries, to S$0.66 from S$0.74, but kept its buy rating. STATEMENT: OCBC has cut its target price for Breadtalk due to its lack of trading activity, but it remains positive on the firm's prospects and expansion plans in China. " Its recent joint venture announcements (in China) have reiterated its continuous commitment to expansion as well as enhance its operational capabilities," said OCBC in a report. The brokerage added that Breadtalk is unlikely to be affected by food inflation as prices of wheat, its key ingredient, fell 21 percent in June, which would help mitigate the rising costs of other raw materials such as vegetable oil. At 0135 GMT, shares of Breadtalk were flat at S$0.60, and have fallen 6.3 percent since the start of the year. |

Breadtalk full-year earnings stay flat    WRITTEN BY THE EDGE       THURSDAY, 24 FEBRUARY 2011 20:01   Breadtalk Group posted a marginal rise in FY2010 earnings to $11.3 million, after revenue grew 23% y-o-y to $302.9 million. Its restaurant segment posted the highest revenue growth of 53.8%, followed by the bakery segment. Sales in Singapore grew the most by 32%. Breadtalk says a $4.2 million gain from the sale of leasehold property in Shanghai helped offset lower profit contributions from the Chinese bakery unit, start-up costs for the new Din Tai Fung Thailand and Shenzhen food court, as well as losses from Carl’s Junior, Ramen Play and the Malaysian bakery unit. The company says it will tackle increases in food prices by shortening the supply chain as well as developing strategic suppliers and bulk source globally.       |

Yes, the main reason is the cash flow of this stock. Despite all the expansion, the stock is still going strong in cash flow.To me, a company need to have strong cash flow in order to do well. If you really screen through most of the stock in SGX, you will find out that not many stock is able to 1. Growing revenue 2. Growing Earning 3. Strong Cash Flow 4. Low debt ratio 5. Low P/E 6. Under valued Some of the company, the moment they expand their company, their cash flow will gone red but breadtalk never. So I feel it is a good stock to track. Of course, if you are planning for short term, i wouldn't recommend breadtalk. This is because the daily volume is super low! You won't have significant price increment within a few weeks. |

i hold this stock b4 but i decided to sell it away. my opinion is this stock, the dividend and dividend yield is not attractive enough, and it doesnt grow much :p the profit also depends on the rental, commodities cost and etc. i think breadtalk try to expand his business in china (need to put in more money), that's why need to wait for a while before you can see the profit. |

I feel it is worth accumulating this stock right now as it is still undervalued. Looking at the cash flow and income statement of breadtalk, you can see that it has steadily growth of revenue, earnings and cash flow. The cash flow growth over 5 year is more than 10%. Using the Discounted Cash flow model, i calculated for a conservative growth of 5% cash flow per year, the estimated intrinsic value of Breadtalk is about $1.52 see my article for complete analysis |
