Hi leepc88, To tell the price trend, I use Accumulation/Distribution and RSI. So if bollinger bands are tight and Acc/Dist and RSI are uptrending also, then by just putting 2 and 2 together, I conclude that there will be sharp price change upwards. |

Hi rogue_trader, excerpt of Securities & Futures Act (Chp 289 / Sect 219) from Singapore Statutes Online (Ref: http://agcvldb4.agc.gov.sg/) as follow: Prohibited conduct by other persons in possession of inside information 219. ?(1) Subject to this Division, where ? (i) the information is not generally available; and (ii) if it were generally available, it might have a material effect on the price or value of those securities, subsections (2) and (3) shall apply. (2) The insider must not (whether as principal or agent) ? (3) Where trading in the securities referred to in subsection (1) is permitted on the securities market of a securities exchange or futures market of a futures exchange, the insider must not, directly or indirectly, communicate the information, or cause the information to be communicated, to another person if the insider knows, or ought reasonably to know, that the other person would or would be likely to ? (a) subscribe for, purchase or sell, or enter into an agreement to subscribe for, purchase or sell, any such securities; or (b) procure a third person to subscribe for, purchase or sell, or to enter into an agreement to subscribe for, purchase or sell, any such securities. Rogue trader, it's better you take a look at Section 219 of the Securities Futures Act (Chapter 289) before you post anything here. |

Yellow Pages: Another defensive play Leading market position with strong branding. YP is the leading provider of classified directory advertising and associated product and services in Singapore with a business history that spans more than 36 years. YP logo is also one of the most well recognized brands in Singapore, and has been preserved through continual targeted marketing, frequent product enhancement and nationwide circulation. Furthermore, its exclusive license with SingTel to use its subscriber's database gives YP a competitive edge that is not easily copied, and is the key factor in making YP directory more attractive to both end-users and advertisers. Diversified client base. The bulk of advertisers in YP's Singapore Phone Directory (SPD) are small and medium size enterprises (SMEs). YP's top 10 unique advertisers of SPD only make up about 4.5% of its revenue, which reflects a well-diversified customer and revenue base. Core earnings turnaround is possible in FY07. YP reported headline net profit growth of over 42% YoY to S$14.5m in FY06. This was achieved despite the 5.3% YoY decline in sales to S$58.1m. The good bottom-line was attributed to a low base effect. Stripping out the one-off items, YP would have seen a 29% YoY decline in net profit. The good news is that the canvassing done so far for 2007 SPD indicates that revenue decline has been arrested. This compares favorably to the double digit annual revenue decline since 2003. Internet Yellow Pages could be the new growth driver. The star for YP business division is the Internet Yellow Pages (IYP). In FY06, this division saw revenue growth of over 100%. Even though IYP contributes only about 3% of group sales currently, YP intends to leverage on its market leadership position by investing heavily in IYP, and boosting its earnings growth. Initiate coverage with BUY. YP is one of the highest dividend yield plays in the market. In FY06, it proposed to distribute 8.5cents per share. This translates into current dividend yield of over 8.0% for FY06F and close to 9.0% for FY07F. As for downside risks, YP has hugely under-performed since its IPO. YP is presently down nearly 40% from its IPO price of S$1.66, and we see little further downside risks. As for fair value, we have a conservative DDM valuation of S$1.13. This gives a price upside potential of about 10%. We like YP for its high yield, and its likely earnings turnaround scenario, which translate into a good defensive play. We thus initiate coverage on YP with a BUY rating. (Chong Wee Lee) |

OCBC just issued a buy call on Yellow Pages. Good defensive play..For everybodys info..:) SINGAPORE Morning Call Research Team (65) 6531 9800 e-mail: info@ocbc-research.com 20 June 2006 News Headlines Yellow Pages Singapore (YP) is the leading publisher of telephone directories and the largest provider of classified directory advertising services in Singapore. YP's principal business activity is the sale of advertising space in its classified directories. YP reported headline net profit growth of over 42% YoY. However, this can be mainly attributed to a low base effect. Stripping out the one-off items, YP would have seen a 29% YoY decline in net profit. Nevertheless, this is a welcome turnaround from the double-digit annual earnings decline since 2003. We see the core earnings turnaround situation as a possibility in FY07, driven by YP's Internet directory. This unit has grown over 100% YoY in FY06, and this growth rate looks likely to continue. We see little downside risk to its share price at the present trading range, after having fallen close to 40% since its IPO. YP's 100% payout policy will give investors a dividend yield of over 8.0%, one of the highest dividend yields in the market. Furthermore, our DDM valuation of S$1.13 also gives further downside protection. We see YP as a good defensive play in the current volatile market, and are initiating coverage with a BUY rating. |

But UBS is calling for a BUY at current price and dividend yield is good. Any comments on that? Just because SSH sells doesnt mean a stock is not worth buying. And price has dropped alot since the heavy selling. |
