Hi Livermore, Actually the problem I face is losses is not eagerness to go back to erase the loss. Rather, when I suffer a loss, my confidence in trading is eroded for a while. But after some time, I will get used to losses and wins and they don't bother me as much anymore. |

Knowing how to take a loss for the trader/investor is as significant for him or her as learning to overcome the fear of death was for the Samurai warrior...For the ultimate secrets of swordsmanship lie in being released from the thought of death. For the trader/investor, the essential issue that needs to be resolved once a viable trading/investing approach has been mastered is overcoming the fear of loss...Taking a loss do not necessary means losing. The Samurai depended on a "highly educated gut", when the technique worked through his body and limbs as if totally independent of his conscious mind. The trader/investor must turn himself/herself into a puppet in the hands of the unconscious. The unconscious and instinctive (intuition) must supersede the conscious. - The Tao (Dow) of Trading by Robert Koppel |

Sometimes when one has been "burnt", there is this eagerness to get back and erase that loss. One then tries bigger risk to get back but in the end find themselves even "deeper in the hole". So it is also important when the "chips" are down to remain cool |

The enemy of most traders or investors are their own emotions. I know meditation helps improve one's spirituality and calmness during meditation but does that help control one's emotions of fear and greed? That will be an interesting question.

Believe it or not, this recommended ritual discipline may actually work! Of course, one may offer anything else (according to one's pet beliefs) in place of the incense! |

Try having 2 chinese mystical animal sculptures the "pi-xiu" that looks like lions near your PC (one represents GREED and the other FEAR). Play with them and ONLY make your move after you have tamed them.

Greed alone will not lead to downfall in Trading in stocks. You must have a certain hunger or movtivation to make more money; or else why do you participate in the Stock Market??????? Thence. to be greedy is not a shameful thingy as long as you don't harm others in achieving your gains! Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Ya iPunter, you right on man! Meditation sure helps one to empty the mind so that one can observe the stock market without attachment and make decisions without emotions. Highly recommended for TA practitioners. Peace |

What ultrameg is suggesting is that meditation (as distinct from religion) can help us cope with worldly matters more effectively. I certainly agree with that. We live life as a whole and as stock market trading is part of life's activities, it is perfectly relevant to suggest meditation as a beneficial influence in our lives. |
