My 2 cents view:- Long term - Down Mid term - Up, with support at 66 cents, with initial resistance at 98cents. Short term - Up. Not an inducement to buy/sell. |

what do you think? (not inducement to buy) 0311 GMT [Dow Jones] Plastic component makers like Juken Technology (J15.SG), Meiban (M24.SG), Fu Yu (F13.SG), Hi-P (H17.SG) may be next takeover targets after UTAC''s (U12.SG) proposed S$2.2 billion (S$1.20/share) buyout by Affinity Equity, TPG Capital, says Credit Suisse. Broker says most of these stocks trading at 10-12X P/E and low capital intensity of plastics business makes for good return once their balance sheets geared up. Says Chartered (C27.SG) unlikely to be acquired as foundries have high capex needs, weaker free cashflow. Most plastic stocks currently thinly traded. (FKH) |

Don't think this stock is a favourite of the market for one. Second, its not a stock that can really run. Technical wise - doesn't look that positive. |

It is optimistic about its prospects, expecting business to improve in '07 after a weak performance in the past 2 years. It expects both revenue and net profits to grow this year. Despite revenue growth of 33% for the year ended 31 Dec '06, Hi-P's earnings fell 35.5%, due mainly to high materials content in its product mix and excess capacity. In mid to late '05, Hi-P began to do assembly work for its wireless telecommunications segment. Much of the resulting growth was passthrough revenue that lowered margins. The segment grew 64% in '06, making up 61% of total revenue. Motorola accounts for about 80% of Hi-P's wireless telecommunications business. But '07 should see increased contributions from Blackberry maker Research In Motion (RIM), and a new client which some analysts say might be Nokia. |

Hi-P will probably remain stagnant for a while according to TA charts. |

Don't know why my previous posting on technical analysis of Hi-P was deleted??? My posting on Ausgroup and FJ Benjamin also deleted too. (confused) Again attached the stock analysis based on TA on Hi-P. :) Hi P has been falling and moving in a downtrend for a long period of time. It is clear from the sloping down moving averages. Strong support for Hi-P is near one year low of $0.66. For more information and the charts, please refer to www.bull-fish.com |

Motorola warning hits Asian phone parts makers SEOUL, March 22 (Reuters) - Shares in some Asian mobile phone contract makers and parts suppliers fell on Thursday after Motorola Inc. warned of a quarterly loss and said its 2007 outlook was "substantially" worse thanexpected. guess this will affect Hi-P as well =( |

Most of the plastic stocks are struggling very badly since one two years back. Reasons: keen competition in the industry and price pressure from customers (in ST today, pg h17 one about FuYu). |

ya shit.... I 'buy high-high' at 1.20 last yrs and 'hold low-low' till now.... the worst decision I ever make that wipe up most of my gain last yrs. I think for this I need to borrow the nickname cin-bo-cheng = 'no gut' to cut lost! |

Hi-P is one very 'tricky' counter to play. Even the 'technicals' are so hard to grasp. A long-term 'buy low-low and hold' strategy is best. |
