Best World clarified that is making plans to apply for a direct selling license in China and details of the formal application for the license will only be firmed up by next year. NOT expected to be granted a license in China next year to sell our products directly through individual distributors. So there could be a delay. |

Best World expects profit growth to take a hit this year due to higher costs from its expansion drive in China, a company executive told Reuters on Tue. Best World is in talks to buy a stake in a Vietnamese firm and plans to expand into a second Chinese province as it awaits a license, expected to be granted next year, to sell cosmetics and healthcare products directly through individual distributors. "China will be our top revenue generator in the 2 years after we get our license," the firm's Executive Director Ban Chin Huang told Reuters in an interview. "But because of the startup cost it might not be reflected at the bottomline yet." Huang declined to name the next province targeted, only saying it was an eastern coastal province with a larger economy than China's Hunan province, where it already operates. The firm expects to expand into 3 or 4 provinces each year. Each country office has a startup cost of about US$341,300. "Each regional centre opened will be a drag on our margins," Huang said. The company, which reported a 40% rise in '06 net profit to $11.9 million, expects profit growth to slow to 15% in '07 due to higher costs from its expansion into Hunan province in Feb, Huang said, suggesting that full-year profit will come in at around $13.7 million. Revenues are expected to grow 30% this year, steady from the first half but lower than last year's 40% rise to $77.1 million. Best World has a stock market value of US$133 million, with 11 country offices in Asia and over 120,000 distributors for its products. Its main regional competitor is Amway (Malaysia) Holdings , with a market cap of US$327 million. Huang said Best World is in talks to take a stake in a Vietnamese direct selling company to expand its network there, though he declined to name the firm. "Vietnam is a possible hub for our Indochina operations...Given 2 years, Vietnam can beat S'pore in terms of revenue generated," he said. |

Since breaking $1.00 support, it has continued falling. Liquidity is so poor. Maybe most of the buyers are its MLM members. Such loyalty. |

Yes... the chart definitely does not look too good... this kind of 'diving' is extremely demoralising... In trading, it is more important (rationally speaking) to think about preserving one's capital than to make or recover lost ground by averaging down...

Its Chairman and CEO have placed out a total of 16.5 million shares with institutional and high net worth investors at $0.85. They have reduced their collective stakes in the company from 57.4% to 47.4%. International institutional investors subscribed for bulk of the placement shares.
No mention of who the institutional investors are. |
