Output from the world's oilfields is declining faster than previously thought.IEA which studies the biggest fields, showed that without extra investment to raise production, the natural annual rate of output decline was 9.1%.
In the annual World Energy Outlook report, the report suggested the world would struggle to produce enough oil to make up for steep declines in existing fields, such as those in the North Sea, Russia and Alaska and to meet long term demand.
It forecast that China, India and other developing countries demand would require invesments of US$360 billion each year until 2030.
"The future rate of decline in output from production oilfields as they mature is the single most important determinant of the amount of new capacity that will need to be built globally to meet demand"

Back in 2004 I was already reading about China's increasing demand for energy. What followed from 2004 to 2007 was the oil boom. With some background knowledge, you are 1 step ahead. Too much mention about speculation in oil price when the fundamental problem is that oil is slowly but surely running out

Firstly if you wish to get dividend, buy the stock 2 weeks before ex dividend. This present global credit crisis could actually be a set up for the energy crisis. When economy is slowing down and when funds are not easily available, companies and countries might not want to invest. When the global economy recovers, it could very well be too late.The infrastructures required take years to get ready

Hope you read about an article in today's business times on world's oil output falling sharply. If no action is done, a potential oil crisis in future is very real indeed. The other crisis are food and climate change. When the world finally realises, it could well be too late and just like in this present credit crisis |

iran established a military base on the straits of hormuz [a vital middle eastern waterway] which carries abt 20% of world oil to western europe, usa n asia....oil then shot up in july partially due to fear that iran may put mines or blockade the straits if it came into conflict with usa or israel.[tis is written by kenneth musante n published at 12.00 pm [ET] in cnnmoney.com in new york....not good news 4 shorting spc. | ||||

Check with the CO price b4 u can do anything???? For ref, last CO price Dec future, 63.22. Wake up before 8am tomorrow and see tele text page 221 world business for details. If it goes lower, wait loh, dun grab early the morning. Moreover, 2morrow is Wed n following Thu n Fri. |
