short term it looks like really facing resistance. but recent results have shown that in the absence of developing property, their earnings is less than the 400 mil required to payout as dividends.

SPH had been in the range bounce for quite some time. i don't see any potential drastic movement for this stock in the near term. It is a good to keep for yield if you get it at a extremely low price, such as when market crash. it is not good for short term trading

Starhub anyhow enter now also will give you 7% PA.

This does not include capital appreciation if your entry point is good.

Another one I'm invested in is Venture which gives both capital appreciation at good entry and > 5% dividend yield.

Of course there are more.

Singapore Press holdings (SPH) reported on Wednesday that its net profit for the second quarter ended February 28, 2011 was at S$75.42 million, down 33.5 per cent from a year ago when profits from Sky@eleven were recognised.

Excluding the effect of the Sky@eleven revenue for the second quarter, group operating revenue rose by S$20.5 million, or 7.7 per cent.

Operating revenue for the Newspaper and Magazine segment remained healthy at S$234.3 million in 2Q 2011. This was S$11.6 million (5.2 per cent) higher than that of 2Q 2010.

Print advertisement revenue increased by S$10.9 million (6.6 per cent) to S$176.3 million driven by a strong showing in Display and Recruitment advertisements.

Circulation revenue at S$50.3 million held steady year-on-year.

Rental income from Paragon increased by S$4.2 million (12.9 per cent) as a result of higher rental rates achieved and incremental rental from the facade enhancement.

Clementi Mall registered its maiden income upon partial commencement of operations in January 2011.

SPH directors expect 'the recurring earnings of the media and property businesses for the current financial year to be satisfactory'.

They have declared an interim dividend of 7 cents per share, unchanged from a year ago. The dividends will be paid on May 24, 2011. Source: Business Times Breaking News

Looking at the recent interest by some of its directors, prices cannot become worst unless the whole market is.
