Tat TCS actress do active shares trading or she juz pump in monies and ask a dedicated broker to play for her? This make a big difference as the broker could have played her out by giving her false advises but in the end any losses she gotta bear. I heard the case settled liao. I wonder she lose monies in which stocks. I know I KPO hehehehe.... |

Hi ROI25per, I read Jesse Livermore's book. What he taught is very similar to what is happening in the market. For example when a stock makes a new high, it means it is headed higher. Just look at FerroChina now:). As you know, I average up. I developed this averaging up method on my own and I usually like to do for a stock coming out from a consolidation phase. I am glad to note Jesse Livermore also has the same strategy of averging up:). This works best for stock coming out of aconsolidation phase. But I try to improvise a bit. I do average down but only minimal lots. When the stock is at consolidation phase, I already make some small buys:). For example when ASL Marine was at 90c. I forgot what are all of Jesse's rules but some are similar to mine:). One day I try to find the time to type out his rules. I have a hard time convincing friends that one should try to confirm a uptrend and it is ok to buy share at a higher price. I am just interested in confirming whether it is a uptrned and that is why I buy at higher price as I average up. But after a certain range I stop averaging up unless my stock has gone even higher and then I start averaging up again so that my earlier lots are way above in profit region and I have no fear. Of course you can get caught in averaging up so I try to choose those in consolidation phase and cut loss if neccesary. Below is a paragraph from a book I am reading titled "24 Essential Lessons for Investment Success." "Let's stop and think about this concept for a moment. The idea of buying a stock at the highest price it has ever sold for just as it is coming out of a correct basing area seems ludicrous. After all, most of us were raised with the idea of getting a deal, a bargain. I am here to shatter a common and comfortable misconeption. What applies to buying merchandise on sale at a department store works in the completely opposite way when dealing with stocks, Do you want stocks that have the greatest potential for moving even higher? Then you have got to ignore the errorneous old saying,"buy low and sell high," and replace it with buy high and sell a lot higher."
I bought CHT at 76c but when it went to 71c, I did not want to average down. Instead I might buy again at 82c. But today I got ride of it as it has fallen back below 80c.

Pls include in your prayer that they have some +ve news to announce. As this stock seems to hover listless over the past week after the lift from dividend announcement. Need to be in limelight like Rotary yesterday as every counter is competing for investors' attn. From parent company Keppel Corp comments 2 days - implicit that there will be some oil exploration news round the corner. I am vested. |

How right you are... Mr. Livermore, Sir... The stock market is not to played with. If one is not careful, one can be permanently handicapped financially and to make a comeback would often be near impossible, unless a miracle or sorts help one. Of course if one is disciplened and only 'plays small', there should be no fear of losing much money. |

[15:35 US TECHS: Commodities Outlook; Gold and Oil] Boston, February 1. Despite great strength, Apr [gold] just missed forming outside month structure on CBOT and COMEX charts yesterday but did manage to do so on nearest futures, a clearly bullish development. Having punched through closest weekly objectives then, next weekly resistance is not found until either side of $678 Apr. Objectives for the new month are in the $671-76 band. Trend Intensity got a good shove with the rise in price, advancing to 15 after four days at 14. These remain very low readings, which from the vantage point of that indicator means there is plenty of potential upside left. Intraday momentum up has slowed today, but first supports are at $661.50-62.50, then $659.50. Buying is favored. [Oil] was above $58 Mar earlier, where a number of 50% Fibonacci retracements targets are found. Despite prices being over $7 off their lows, the market has not been able to exit negative momentum territory, using daily studies like MACD as a proxy for momentum. Weekly and monthly charts show the $59.40-70 zone as closest major resistance on those longer-term time frames. Monthly trend models are still quite bearish, requiring a close past $61.58 this month to even turn neutral. Nov 17 lows at $60.61 should also be kept in mind, marking closest chart reference levels that represent former support, now resistance on any eventual retest. Bottom line is that a correction lower should spring either from the current $58 zone, or the $60 region (62% retracements) on additional strength. Joel.Marver@thomson.com /cm |

Hi Elf, Sometimes just like what my ex VP of my previous company once said, "In life sometimes it is better to learn from other's mistakes. To learn from one's mistakes can sometimes be painful.". If you make a huge mistake in stock market, don't ever think of making a come back. It might not be so easy.......... |

I still urge caution on SPC... the rally today isn't strong. The volumes are not impressive at all. |
