Sifu's points are valid too... That's why I said playing stocks is not the way to get rich... Being devastated by stocks is not the fault of the market or its mechanism... It is the fault of the player. The character of the player causes his/her devastation, no matter which approach is taken (buy/sell.or hold forever).

If having sum up your total P& L plus brokerage fees over the years and flipping has been a consistent winning strategy for you all, good for you. To each his own. But what I notice for many of my friends is they may make 30% on one day, but could lose 30% the next day. Their returns are very volatile. When you play stocks like that, that's like betting. Then you might as well go RWS play 大 小 . It is not difficult to make 20%-30% on a stock but to do so consistently, that's difficult. The best professionally run hedge funds can only manage returns of 10+% year-on-year consistently. If having hold for a year and I can generate a 30% upside on this counter, I will already be very happy. Doom will only result if company's fundamental jialat but you still continue to hold on to the shares and hope for the best. I don't develop feelings for shares that I buy, but fact is from all perspective, this is an undervalued stock. When counter suddenly runs up, it is not going to give you a call to load up. Better I load up first. :) |

That is why humans are not made for stock trading/investment. This is because human values are guaranteed to make one lose in stocks. Ordinary human values like loyalty, faith, faithfulness, love etc are well and good in human interactions. But when those same values are used to treat stocks, doom and devastation will be the usual consequential result. |

This counter is for long term investment. I doubt i need to go into details since Vard 4Q result presentations have shown the amount of contract secured and due for delivery this year 2013-2015. And with the demand for subsea & construction vessels remains strong, there should be more contract secured in 2013. |
