many thanks, madam slimsk for posting my pics: you have a absolutely beautiful heart..... and yes fortunegal, grateful if you could let me know the software: my pics were actually >than 2MB size but I reduced them using the email version which brings them down to about 17-50k, as you can see resolution and clarity has suffered particularly my shot of the flight of F16 Canandian geese.. asterisk & geojam... yaloh... very long queue.. so I only stay outside to take the pics (to give an alternative view to the ones in the Jabba newspapers (aka ST)..) .. then I am off to take cherry blossom pics (with Shi San Yee & Slimsk in mind, so that they can show me pic of the sakuras taken in Japan) On my way down to Virginia, I had wanted to view the sakuras in Washington DC, but because of severe thunderstorm, a week before, the flowers were all blown away... sigh) pss...sh.. I heard re the 6,000 attendence figure.. does not say that more than 60% are non Singaporeans (as pointed out by Geojam-- your network pretty good!!) and Elf & Auntie Bunnie... so you two had a hot date!!! Sounds like you folks had a gorgeous time... looking forward to our dinner with Geojam (Gpa).. I will bring ze Amarula... so we can all do elephant dance... |

singaporegal, i am back from the cruise ship today. don't know ur email address, so i just use this forum to update u things. before i forget, there are some things i want to remind you in case u miss out or not aware. 1) pls bring high heels or covered shoes, presentable top, skirt or dress for dinner if you want to dine at Belle Vista or Samurai Japanese resturant for dinner. if guy friend is coming along, he MUST wear shirt with collar, long pants (long jeans also can) and MUST wear covered shoes for entry. no sandals, slippers are allowed etc. These are the places where u all must use up the free $100 food 'voucher' per cabin in the access card. (u will be given a access card n everything is charged here). they r strict on this, just bring these clothes n use up the free $100. p/s: forget about going Palazzon, the extremely high-class italian resturant think with only 6 tables (more for ang-mos to go). U go take a glance when u there, n u will understand what i mean. spend ur $100 at the japanese restaurant better. if forget to bring these clothes/shoes, you all can still go eat the normal buffet restaurant at level 12. 2) no need to go cruise centre at 4pm to check in so early. The gates only open ard 6pm plus...so late. u reach cruise centre ard 5.30pm can already ( i reach ard this time). ~~~ 3) for redang marine park trip, they never mention on the paper, after u back from the marine park to the cruise ship, immediately there is another boat to send the people to laguna redang resort. To save time, best pack extra dry clothes in your bag and change after your snorkelling in marine park, when back to cruise ship, directly take this 2nd boat transfer to laguna redang resort. u can go back to your cabin first of course, but in my opinion, it is already 4pm plus after back from marine park....any delay of time means can't see more of the beautiful beach at laguna resort in daytime before 7pm. the last boat to leave laguna resort is 8pm. p/s: i didn't go to laguna resort as i am dead tired from the snorkelling experience in marine park, plus i had already stayed there last year. 4) Do you want more than 100 hundred fishes to follow you in redang marine park? ;o) The best location to snorkel is just below the jetty area.... there are many pillars there...the most number of fishes are located here (don't know why). here is the trick, bring a small transparent plastic bag (bring from singapore lah) and filled it with lots of white breads (buy white bread from singapore too), hold the opening of the plastic bag tight to prevent sea water getting in so much, snorkel along with it, flash it to the fishes in the water... (they know okie, they are that clever)...and believe me, they sure follow u all the way. p/s: The ppl in charge never give us bread, sianz... i go ask a auntie who got bread as she bought from her resort, n she graciously give me 2 pieces...! so grateful to her. :) at least more than 20 fishes ARE JUST RIGHT BELOW MY FACE snatching for the bread when snorkeling. exciting n nice experience. :D i am lack of bread, so i 'follow' a guy with the most bread....n see the hundreds of beautiful fishes that follow him.. :p 5) don't get tanned like me, best wear a extra T-shirt to snorkel. the sun is really too strong, sunblock don't really work that efficiently. i regret not bringing the T-shirt. 6) don't know why so many uncles n aunties all stay balcony cabins (think nearly 80% are them)... kinda of suspect they come to the cruise ship on a frequent basis to gamble. even overhear one of them asking wanna to come again next week(?!?). ~~~~~~~~~ elf/shplayer/fairygal, i really can't imagine if a baby shark swim near me at snorkelling time. if it really happen, i will be the first one to swim off even though i know they don't bite... still feel it is scary.. eee... :O but i did saw a baby shark off the beach outside laguna redang resort when snorkelling last year, it is still far away so no need to panic. Came back n update my friends, they all said they saw the baby shark before at the same area i snorkel(!?!). oh ya, singaporegal, as mentioned by the rest already, don't worry, no shark at marine park (we just snorkel off the beach), snorkel twice in marine park last yr n this year, n never see it. |

whee....all my fav ppl are online. keke. hullo to godpa, singaporegal, my kitten and the kid asterisk! (and to whoever else i might have missed out scanning the tiny fonts in the home pg). singaporegal, don't worry lah. the little reef sharks are harmless. really. if they start swimming in groups and rising to the surface tho, my advice is get out of the water. feeding time. hehe. :P but yea, just relax and enjoy. the sea's a lovely place. do watch out for sea urchins tho. elf got spiked by them before while swimming in cambodia. took forever to remove the spines. no joke, that. basically, don't step on anything, just float light as a bubble! keke. anyways, elfie just met up with bunnie today. godpa!!! bunnie is very pretty!!!! ooh...all big eyes, fair skinned, with dark hair that frames her face, slim and petite. Elfie got a pretty little bunnie pet!!! hm...now wonder if my kitten's pretty too....hmmm....if not i wanna find another one. nextttt... keke. k, v tired. elf too fragile. need to conserve energy. hey, look at this little guy! heehee. nites, all! |

Hi *, It's Central Park in NY alright but it was also Singapore Day there last weekend where Singaporeans can get to eat Singapore food for free! That's why u see the long queue of 6000 Singaporeans in US who miss Spore food! Heard that they ran out of chicken for the chicken rice but the pple were still enjoying the rice with only the chilli! Ah Singaporeans, we just luv our food! Me too i like the cherry blossoms. I've also taken some photos of cherry blossoms from Japan last spring. Will put them up in another album when i have the time. Cheers n good luck for your exams! |

Thanks all for the reassurance.... hahaha... I'll try to keep my nerves about me. The last time I went snorkelling at Tioman, I saw a really big fish coming at us. I think it was a baby shark but that was really scary. Ever since then, everytime I go into the water, I keep a lookout for SHARKS !! |

Hi everyone esp *, I've uploaded what Chinkiasu has sent me from his NY trip onto this website picasaweb.google.com/slimlsk Enjoy! Hi Singaporegal, Dont worry abt the sharks at rendang, they r supposed to be baby sharks, the kind that we eat them, they dont eat us! :) Enjoy your trip, snorkelling at Redang is fantastic, lots of fishes and very clear water. Keep a lookout for turtles, pretty big ones above 1m long! Bring some water n sour plums too, cos the sea might be a bit choppy esp when the boat switches off the engine or u might be feeding the fishes in another way, if u know what i mean. heehee that's what happened to me, so seasick that i missed seeing the baby sharks! |

singaporegal, Don't worry about sharks.....those National Geographic features say that sharks don't like the taste of human meat. The reason they attack humans is cos they mistook them for seals. .....but after one bite, they usually spit it out....but, by then, the damage is already done....sigh!!!!!!....... |
