Better take it with a pinch of salt........ The BIG has been quite disappointing so far......... With its patent technology, the share price has not been improving........ When the market was good, it has been quite disappointing, let alone in this type of market conditions | ||||

Technical View - So far so good. The gradual uptrend still looks intact, with the stock hitting a low of 0.31 on 20 jan ( a higher 'low'). In fact, the technical picture for Biosensors looks much better than most of the other small cap stocks, that were in play the last 3 weeks. THe really tough problem ahead is whether the stock can go back to its recent high of 0.39 (12th jan), or even surpass it. In doing so, it will solidify this 'uptrend' that we are seeing so far. Moving averages - looks good. 20 mva supported the recent drop, and the stock has once again climb on or is exactly on the 100 days mva. A technical commentary - Not a call to buy/sell. |

See one of the M&A news from Abbott http://money.cnn.com/2009/01/12/news/companies/abbott_amo.reut/index.htm In medical industry, paying 150% premium is not a news at all. Abbott even paid another 1.4B$ for covering the debt of this acquired company (a total of 2.8B$) Good sign if there is any MA happens in BIG's case. |

For those who are interested in the fundamentals of this stock, Biosensors has put up the recent TCT 2008 video conference of their evening symposium on their website. Of interest will be the speaker Renu Virmani, Patrick Seruys, and a Carlos who did the OCT sub-study (Optical Coherence Technology). Patrick Seruys was saying that the Leaders Trial 12-mths clinical results deserved to be classified under the TCT 2008 ' Late Breaking Trial' category, but unfortunately, it was not. He also said that the abluminal technology of Biosensors ,where the drug/polymer was coated only on the outer surface of the stent was something that he thought would not work (6 yrs ago), and he was pleasantly surprised at its success, in the Leaders Trial. Technically, Biosensors has hit the 2 targets mentioned earlier (on 5th Jan 09), ie it has cleared 0.345 and 0.37, even exceeding 0.37, to reach an intra day high of 0.385, but closing at 0.365. What can be seen, since the stock bottom out in Oct 08, is that the stock is making a series of higher 'highs' and higher 'lows', but in a more gentle manner as opposed to its previous characteristic of rushing to a 20 -30 % rise, and then dropping immediately and sharply. The stock will likely pull back (when - I dont know), and the longer term technical traders will want to see this picture of gentle highs and lows being maintained, thus giving rise to a more SUSTAINABLE uptrend. Today's high of 0.385, also corresponds to 30th Sep 08 low, which represents a resistance (ie previous support which was broken on 8 oct 08, is now acting as resistance - classis charting theory). The stock has also risen above the 100 days mva on an intra-day basis. and closed at exactly on the 100 day mva. Most stocks will encounter resistances at these siginificant mva levels (20, 50, 100, 200), and may even exceed it, but will drop back later. However, if the trend is still intact, the stock may mount an assault on these levels later on. Just a technical observation - Not a call to buy/sell. |

don't worry la... my holdings of average price of 0.36 is achieved, i don't even bother to sell and go... anyway, just only 20 lots. every salth fish has its turn to go up..... include this counter... so, need not to worry, it can go back to my first purchase of 0.69 again, who knows? |
