living in a unprecedented world...what's wrong with it with the sudden bankruptcy and such markets breaking the support lines in such a swift action... the ups and downs are way too much for many to take it...today's volume in our local market is considered very high...still so many brave souls buy/shorting huh? the temptation to jump back into the market (be it short or long positions) had been rather high...but must control

I think tomorrow when mkt opens for trade, I will short all 3 banks and SGX. I wun care how much they open just short!!! Rest assure they will not rebound like they did this afternoon, period! | ||||

Dow skidded again tonight even after the fund injected into the mkt. From a start of 10,800+ pt (gaining about 200+) to now in red, I doubt STI will do well tomorrow. What the hell is happening to the world? | ||||

the big banks, companies and the sifus here all got burnt.. what more a newbie like me.. somewhat a consolation for me, not to gloat or anything. now i wish i had waited so i have funds to collect it cheaper.. money management like what many sifus have reminded us.

Cheongwee, good for you! Lesson learnt, dun go against the mkt. Leave some for a comeback or else when mkt reverse there is no more fund to fight. I have also read somewhere that DOW will hit 8000 level before reverse, which is yet to come true. The analyst also predicted that STI to hit 2500-2600 before a reversal but STI so far went below his prediction. I guess all these are estimates. I am all CASH like you 6 mths ago. However I danned into the mkt for very short term 'gambling'...hehehe. But still get burnt. So now, I only do shorting most of the time, a little of buying up. Cheers!

I think 8900,like Weiss research, Larry forcast..He is got something. I am following him closely, Then if thing got urgly next march it will be 7000,then go to 25000 over 3 years. This is what i heartsay from him, not me said. i got no means to say this,, i am lousy. Luckily, i listen to him,since last year Aug.to get out of stock.but stubborn stay till beginning of the year before decide to bail out myself, otherwise dies..loss some 19K..if not today big big loss. I think the next few month will be worse, all good counter lalso dies, m ight well sell first buy cheaper later, so when market turn you break even faster. Dont fight the trend..it is down for sure.DYODD |

Exactly! I think it's likely to recover later; perhaps to around 10800-10900; current depression of the index is likely to be BBs trying to cover shorts; SEC just made it illegal to do naked shorts; they have exactly 3 days to neutralise all naked short positions. Observe how fast the recoveries above 10700 were. It's now already around 10750. |

CWQuah...the moment u speak of it...it suddenly just went down and broke the 10700...such an coincident..yes i do agree with you that it may not be advisable to short on Thursday seriously speaking...i did not expect DOW to touch near the region of 10640 (just 20 points away currently...already considered near) tonight...i thought it might be on Friday or next week... just take a look at the charts between the 4th quarter of 2005 and late Jan 2006 frame...its the next credible support region...we can't pinpoint the exact numbers...but we do see that tonight DOW had touched the support region imagine after the big sell-down ..in a major way...it might be time to do some short-covering and scooping up the shares at the low prices...just when total pessimism sets in, a few big investors will swop in bit by bit... well, the above is just a short-term trading point of view only~

Cyjjerry, Gimme a five! (Hi-fives). Really speak of the devil sia! Should see some rapid dingdong around 10650-10700. Anyway, AIG already backstopped. Even if 2nd crisis for AIG comes again, I'd suspect Fed/Bush will use every darn trick to support it. I would like to see this break to be of very low volume on an intraday basis for Dow - looking for signs of seller exhaustion. Ideally, if Dow recovers for the remaining part of the trading session on INCREASING volume, it is advisable NOT to short tomorrow.

yes it did...and the lowest currently for the intra-day low is at 10660 ...just 20 points away from the support quoted probably will buy to anticipate a technical rebound... let's observe how it will be at the closing k?

Hehe, agreed. For now Dow still holding 10703; but any good BB will do his utmost to create market panic. A deliberate break below 10700 should happen later.
