Hi Alex, may i ask what is your usual practice of MACD parameter setting (long, short & signal period) and Stochastic (K & D smooth period)? Thanks. There is a falling trend if I set to default parameter.( 26 days, 12 days & signal period 9 days)

GoldenAgr seems to hit a snag. Both MACD and Stochastic shows momentum is weakening and price could be heading down. This is my personal analysis, don't take it too seriously. Good luck. |

Release of Independent Verification Exercise Report is Postponed Jakarta, 24 July 2010 – PT SMART Tbk (“SMART”) announces that the release of the results of the Independent Verification Exercise will be postponed from the 29 July 2010 to 10 August 2010. The joint authors of the report, the certification bodies Control Union Certification (“CUC”) and BSI Group today informed SMART of this decision. In a joint statement by CUC and BSI Group: “We are covering a vast area throughout Central and West Kalimantan. We are focused on delivering a thorough and well grounded report and it is with this emphasis in mind that we will require more time to finalise our report.” In conjunction with the release of the Independent Verification Exercise Report on 10 August 2010, SMART will now hold its media briefings on 10 August 2010 in Jakarta and 11 August 2010 in London. “We look forward to the release of the results and are eager to share the report in full with all stakeholders,” said Daud Dharsono, President Director of SMART.

With its results just around the corner, we hold off revising our estimates for FY2010 and FY2011 for now. We believe the worst is likely over for Golden Agri, coupled with a modestly positive medium-term outlook. We maintain our 'buy' rating and fair value estimate of S$0.72. BUY

Below is extraction from http://www.palmoilhq.com/PalmOilNews/asian-crude-palm-oil-ends-up-2-5-on-supportive-fundamentals. Crude palm oil futures on Malaysia’s derivatives exchange rose as much as 2.8% intraday to a two-month high Thursday, fuelled by increased demand in the physical market as countries in the region gear up for major festive periods. The benchmark October contract on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives exchange ended MYR62 or 2.5% higher at MYR2,519 a metric ton after rising to MYR2,520/ton, its highest level since May 11. "Demand in the physical market has been good and this lent support," a senior executive at a Kuala Lumpur-based physical-market broker said. Also supporting the rise in prices were expectations for weaker production due to lower yields in the top palm-oil producing state of Sabah, growers and trade participants said. Preliminary data from an industry body Thursday said output so far this month has only risen 1.5% from the same period last month, which may lead to a drawdown in palm inventory levels as demand is likely to outpace supply. With La Nina weather now underway, recent heavy rain in several oil-palm growing regions is already hurting output growth, although it is likely to boost yields in the future, an executive at a major Malaysian trading house said. Crop data from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board earlier in the week showed weaker-than-expected output growth in June, while robust festive demand ahead of the Islamic fasting period starting next month is also supporting prices. Pakistan, a major buyer of Malaysian palm oil, has likely purchased as much as 200,000 to 225,000 tons this month and may buy around 150,000 tons next month, Pakistan Edible Oil Refiners Association Vice Chairman Rasheed Janmohammad said recently.

DEAR ALL: REPORT WILL BE OUT ON 29TH JULY. THOSE THAT BOUGHT SHARES.... HOLD!!!!! Golden Agri-Resources July 22 close: S$0.575 OCBC Investment Research, July 22 GOLDEN Agri-Resources subsidiary PT Smart recently announced that it had implemented 'enhanced' standard operating procedures relating to sustainable palm oil production. This is part of its revitalised strategy and strong commitment towards sustainability, conserving bio-diversity and land with high carbon stock. Smart said it is also absolutely against burning and established a zero-burning policy in 1997 - long before the same policy was formalised by the Indonesian government in 1999. Last but not least, both Smart and Golden Agri aim to obtain Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification for all of their palm oil operating units by 2015. Some of the plantations are already in the process of obtaining the certification. Separately, Smart has clarified certain statements made by Greenpeace in its 'How Sinar Mas is Pulping the Planet' report. Smart clarifies that Sinar Mas is a brand name and does not refer to any operating business entity, and that Golden Agri and Smart are not subsidiaries of Sinar Mas. In addition, Golden Agri and Smart have their own independent boards and managements and are separate from the other companies alluded to by Greenpeace. To further verify recent reports and allegations by Greenpeace, Smart engaged two of the world's leading certification bodies - accredited by RSPO - and says a full report will be released on July 29 during the lunchtime trading break. On the operations side, we note that crude palm oil (CPO) prices have been slightly softer in Q2 2010, averaging around US$743 a tonne versus US$777 a tonne in Q1, no doubt hit by worries over the slowing economy in China and credit issues in the euro zone. However, we note that CPO prices have since recovered slightly to US$753 a tonne on the back of steady crude oil prices and weather-related supply concerns. Hence, we are keeping to our US$750-a-tonne base assumption for CPO this year. Meanwhile, we still expect to see a q-o-q increase in CPO output in Q2, and this should help to negate slightly weaker CPO prices. Golden Agri is expected to release its Q2 results on Aug 11. With its results just around the corner, we hold off revising our estimates for FY2010 and FY2011 for now. We believe the worst is likely over for Golden Agri, coupled with a modestly positive medium-term outlook. We maintain our 'buy' rating and fair value estimate of S$0.72. BUY |
