The recently-battered shares in Olam rose as much as 9.4% after UBS and Macquarie issued research notes saying the company's stocks were oversold.

Olam hit a intraday high of $1.97, a day after the stock slipped 12.6% on rumours that the food and agricultural products firm has exposure to a commodities brokerage firm which has been hit by liquidity problems.

Macquarie analyst Patrick Yau, who kept Olam at "outperform" at a target price of $3.82, said the recent sell-off in Olam's shares on Wed has created greater value in the stock. UBS analyst Gaurung Bhatia also said Olam's shares were oversold.

"We believe there may be concerns about its working capital requirements given its high gearing levels and high commodity prices...the concerns are overdone and the stock should bounce back," Bhatia said.

After studying Olam in details over the last few days/nights... hv a piece of well-intentioned advice for long term investors who may think of buying Olam on the dip. Please do thorough checks on Olam's balance sheet and cash flow situation.

I hv thought of buying Olam before but after studying the details, decided to beat a retreat. Better to stay away from Olam (Noble is not any better in case you asked but Olam looks more precarious to me.)

Haha ya la, i know.. but u know, will still feel sian 1/2. I really waited the whole day hoping for my target 2.25 leh..

Then I see other counter all go mad.. cheong like no tml, so tempted to release this n go into others..

heng the one i enter on goldenagri still nw positive 3 cents. hope tml up another 3 cents then i contra off liao!
