In its recent 1Q11 results, Noble Offshore mentioned that Petrobras has informed them that the bids for the remaining 21 newbuild rigs have been cancelled, leading them to believe that Petrobras will tender for needed units in the market place as opposed building in Brazil. What we think: We find it strange that Noble Offshore, who did not participate in the bid, was informed about the news whereas SembMarine and Keppel Corp who are tendering for the 21 rigs were not informed.   We mentioned in our 1Q11 results note on SembMarine that we are likely to hear about some progress soon as the time extension for equipment costs from vendors are valid only until end-May. We think that not all of the 21 rigs will be cancelled given the recent restructuring in Petrobras and Sete Brasil. We believe that Petrobras' intention to build rigs in Brazil remains unchanged, but the key obstacle facing it is the high associated costs. Below, we list a few possible scenarios that could come out of the Petrobras bids: -   All of the 21 rigs are cancelled (we think this is the most unlikely scenario) -   Reduce the number of rigs to lesser than 21 units -   Partial relief of local content requirements to allow some work to be executed/carried out overseas to be cost effective. Near-term sentiments of the Offshore & Marine sector would be affected if the orders are indeed cancelled. However, given that the demand for new deepwater rigs in Brazilian oil fields remains intact, we believe that more rigs will be tendered in the international market in the even of a cancellation. This will still benefit Singapore yards. What you should do? Stay invested our top buys in the sector are SembMarine (OUTPERFORM, TP S$6.80) and Sembcorp Industries (OUTPERFORM, TP S$7.05). Unexercised options should continue to provide positive newsflow in the market. Recent weakness in SembMarine's share price provides buying opportunities as orders are in the pipeline (production platform from SMOE and some jack-ups).

You've got to be kidding man... that 800k wall is like  those  bb support i'd seen  @  5.00  and 5.06 same in magnitude the various times i went s on wilmar.  Anyway i shorted @5.50, God bless me. Noble.. i really think it's going down.. sorry ..shorted it together with alex.. but there's not much downside to it.. slightly above 2 for my tp price... genting sp ... haven't check my charts yet.. will get back to you peeps shortly... working on a new backtest system for my website and forum :D

Noble.. i really think it's going down.. sorry ..shorted it together with alex.. but there's not much downside to it.. slightly above 2 for my tp price... genting sp ... haven't check my charts yet.. will get back to you peeps shortly... working on a new backtest system for my website and forum :D
