Well done Biosensor....today mgt buy back 2million shares from the mkt at $1.195 to counter the shortist called i- seller. Yesterday shortist shorted 1.17 million share before result announcement and today shorted another 800,000 share , a total of about 2million shorted for last two days. Hope mgt can tame the shortist and the i-seller who is always there to sell down this stk. IMO, mgt is aware of their company problems and is working out more acquisition to ensure more future profit and this maiden dividend of 2 US cents is very comforting to shareholders.Its much better than bank interest. |

Must hold until ex dividend date to get the dividend. Check the sgx website for the date of ex-dividend. Should be after the AGM.

Biosensors disappointing core 4QFYMar13 results below expectations. Revenue at US$88.8m, flat yoy. Net profit at US$29.6m, +9% yoy, mainly boosted by a tax write back of US$5.9m. Pretax profit was US$23.8m, -20% yoy, largely due to higher operating costs, eg. selling & Marketing and R& D expenses. The group saw revenue growth and gross margin expansion for its core DES business, despite pricing pressures. The China market saw organic revenue growth in FY13 but is experiencing headwinds. Licensing revenue was the main drag, as it continued to decline qoq and yoy, due to lower pricing, loss of mkt share in Japan, and weaker contributions from a depreciating yen. Mgt has guided for a 15% yoy overall revenue growth in FYMar14. Expect more M& A activities as Biosensors seeks to expand its product lines for more growth drivers. The group declared maiden div of US 2cts which translates to a yield of 2.1%. Maybank KE maintains at Hold with TP $1.25 (from $1.28), notes challenges in existing pdt lines, and believes the group needs a stronger (M& A) catalyst for positive re-rating. Deutsche keeps at Hold, with TP $1.30. Nomura maintains Buy with TP $1.80, but still expects negative stock reaction on the lower-than-expected results. |

I just browsed through their May 29 earnings report. No bad news. Everything is normal. Only lacklustre info is their flat revenue which is slightly better than last year. Otherwise, this is still a profitable company. Outlook for 2014 is positive. So, I don't understand why the stock price is still depressed. Only reason is that the retiree investor is not happy with this zero dividend counter. Management is too cocky and think they have a hot growth company like Apple. Now that they are declaring a small US 2 cent dividend, maybe the retirees will come back to support stock price.

Dividend!! going to attract new kind of investors. FY13, total revenue was US$336.2 million, a 15% increase Gross margin on total product sales was 81% for FY13, a significant improvement from 73% in FY12 Excluding exceptional items- net profit for FY13 would have been US$111.6 million compared to 101 mill in FY12 Financial Guidance for FY14- 15% over FY13 whats so bad in this result to drop so much on 29th?? looks like its going to run up tomorrow |
