Body length  of K17's candles are not long enough to be considered bullish piercing  candles for reversal, any reaction rally  (due  from days of selling down)  can lack conviction or strength.   Bullish Piercing Line Pattern is a bottom reversal pattern. A long black candlestick is followed by a gap lower during the next day while the market is in downtrend. The day ends up as a strong white candlestick, which closes more than halfway into the prior black candlestick’s real body. Recognition Criteria: 1. Market is characterized by downtrend. 2. We see a long black candlestick. 3. Then we see a long white candlestick whose opening price is below previous day’s low on the second day. 4. The second day’s close is contained within the first day body and it is also above the midpoint of the first day’s body. 5. The second day however fails to close above the body of the first day.

Keppel Land: Relatively in-lind results 1Q2011 rev at $357.9m +236.1%yoy +27.2%qoq with net profit at $92.1m +45.5%yoy -89.1%qoq. On a pretax basis and excld one-offs profit was down 8.2%qoq but was partly due to an accounting policy change of recognizing overseas dev projects on full completion basis vs progressively... Increase in rev was attributed mainly to a gain of $253.1m in the property trading segment from Elita Promenade in Bangalore, and other Sg projects including the new launch of The Lakefront Residences in Nov 2010, Madison and Reflections… Co also recorded a one-off gain of $24.4m in the divestment of Keppel Digihub. Further developments include Sengkang MRT site (622 units) due later this yr. Overseas rev also constituted 61.7% of total rev and co expects to launch over 4000 units in China this year… On the office front, Ocean Financial Sector has increased pre-commitment to 82.3% as at end-Mar 2011 and together with new acquisitions in Prudential Towers and Capital Square could possibly lead to more divestment opportunities to K-REIT over nxt 12-24 mths. Highlights that both Sg and China sales were weaker in seasonally slower 1Q and likely due to policy tightening measures. 1Q EPS at 6.3c and NAV was at $2.91. Co trades approx 1.5x P/B… UBS maintains Buy with TP$5.08. Nomura maintains Buy with TP$5.56. DB maintains Buy TP$.5.08. JPM maintains Neutral with TP$4.70. MS maintain Equalweight with TP$4.63. CS maintains Neutral with TP$5.04. GS maintains Neutral with TP$4.90. |

OCBC Investment Research has lowered its target price on Singapore property developer Keppel Land (KLAN.SI) to $5.09 from $5.12 but maintained its buy rating. Singapore property developer Keppel Land said its first-quarter net profit rose 46% year-on-year to $92.1 million, lifted by higher contributions from property trading and its unit K-REIT Asia, as well as gains from selling its stake in Keppel Digihub.  OCBC said future earnings for Keppel Land are likely to be lumpier as the firm will have to comply with accounting standards and recognize profits on its overseas projects only on full completion.   The brokerage added that it expects slower Chinese sales this year, noting that prices remain at healthy levels of 60,000-80,000 yuan ($11,405-$15,206) per square metre for unsold units but foot traffic has dipped since the purchasing curbs.   However, OCBC said the pre-commitment levels at the firm’s Ocean Financial Center in Singapore’s office district have edged up to 82.3% from 80% in the fourth quarter, and is fairly confident of robust occupancy when it is completed.   At 9:17 a.m., Keppel Land shares were up 1.2% at $4.41 on a volume of 201,000 shares. Kepland’s 1Q11 results were in line with expectations and made up 25% of our full year forecast. Net profit surged 45% yoy to $92.1m on a 2.4x improvement in revenue to $358m thanks to robust take up at The Lakefront Residences (> 90% of 591 units sold), higher divestment income ($24.4m), write-back of cost provisions as well as a net lease income from KTGE Towers pending redevelopment. The group has adopted a policy of recognizing overseas development earnings on a completed basis and this came from projects in India in Q1. Take up of new launches remains robust. In terms of operations, 1Q11 demand for housing in China remained robust with 150 units sold at Central Park City in Wuxi while 182 units launched at Riviera Point was 58% sold. Meanwhile, pre-commitment rate at OFC had risen marginally to 82.3%. Looking ahead, the group will continue delivery on its growth through new residential launches in Spore and overseas. It will launch the recently acquired Sengkang site by end 2011 and roll out the remaining 518 units at Lakefront Residences, Marina Bay Suites and Reflections at Keppel Bay . In China, it will market 200 townhouses in Shenyang and roll out 3167 units from 8 Park Ave , Seasons Park in Tianjin Eco-City, Springdale and Botanica as well as launch 650 units in Vietnam . Keplan failed to break 4.60 resistance last week and retrace from there. It is trading at immediate support around 4.37.. Next major support was seen at 4.20.. Keppel Land Ltd’s wholly-owned real estate fund management arm, Alpha Investment Partners Limited (AIP), through its US$1.2 billion Macro Trends Fund (AAMTF), and NTUC Income, have entered into an agreement to jointly acquire the Grade A office development Capital Square for an investment consideration of about $889 million. AIP will be the asset manager for the joint venture partners upon the completion of the acquisition. Keppel Land Limited has also been awarded the tender for a prime residential site in Sengkang by the Housing and Development Board. |

SINGAPORE, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Shares of Singapore property developer Keppel Land At 0327 GMT, Keppel Land shares were 1.5 percent higher at S$4.18, outperforming the Straits Times Index's < .FTSTI> 0.4 percent loss. Over 3.4 million Keppel Land shares had changed hands. " Keppel Land was one of the hardest hit by the rate hike in China as they have a larger exposure to the country, but I think it was oversold as fundamentally the firm still remains strong," said Donald Chua, an analyst at CIMB Research. Keppel Land's shares have fallen 14.2 percent since the start of the year, weighed by concerns that China may introduce further measures to curb property prices. " At these levels, I believe it's attractive for investors to buy into Keppel's shares," said Chua, who has a buy rating and a target price of S$5.91. Chua highlighted that Keppel Land's land bank in China consists mainly of township projects, which have lower costs and are able to command firm selling prices. (Reporting by Charmian Kok) |
