Hi HenryAng570, I know people who do averaging. Some make more money or cut their losses. Others just lose more money or reduce their gains. So do be cautious if you're doing it... I do not practise averaging because of my methodology I guess. I have fixed entry and exit points. |

Thanks for all your sharing. One point for consideration to increase gain and mini loss - I think we all know but often forget. Averaging. If you believe in the counter, when price fall, buy-in again. That's what I did for SP Ships (15 lots at 52.5, 15 lots at 51.5 and 15 lots at 50.0 and it pays off. Today's opening is 54 ..... and I think is heading towards 60. But also remember, never try to catch a drowning counter - or catch a falling knife (get cut seriously) eg STX PO buy calls was 84.5 within less than a week, profit warning .... if you keep buying in, will go bankrupt. Cut losses - is painful ...... but still manage to stay afloat. Off course, we need to cash to do it ......... Have a great day. |

Hi: My portfolio cost 290k all paid up. At 27-6-2006 close down 15%. Only one China stock, China paper 10-lots bought a 0.41cts. Remainder mostly blue chips, such as Singtel, NOL, Capland, Kepland, Osim,ComfortDelgro, Hyflux, Parkway. May have to sit it out till year end and hopefully make some profit. |

Hi Scotty, Lowalice & Travelbug & All.... maybe we can help to analyse abit about our portfolio. Would I be correct to say that all of you have China Stocks in your portfolio?. My Inv Status: $100K+ Realised Gain 3.1% Paper Loss 1.78%. No china stocks. Buy into known Co like SMRT, SP Ships (high dividends type) and great performance like Stamford Tyres I take this opportunity to thank our forum members - I pick up SP Ships & Stamford Tyre based on the discussion points raised by members. These 2 counters help to reduce my losses. Have benefitted from many of you contributions. ...... Best wishes to all. |
