Today's Straits Times reported a news that "Singapore firms urged to invest if Japan gives nod to casinos". Like Singapore before it, Japan is poised to permit casinos for the first time. A casino in Japan could be up and running by 2011. |

the faith of genting will depend very much on usa market on sept 17 and the future on sept 18. Any dip in dow, bb will take opportunities to shake the market on sept 18 which is oso the day genting converted share is open for trading. this counter is not for contra player. |

There is around 30% more shareholder apply excess right for genting, that mean there is 30% of shareholder willing to buy genting if fall below 60 cents, so my 50 cents to buy in more seems to face some problems. let wait and see 180907......what will happen after listed right share.... |

Wednesday September 12, 4:04 PM World's gaming industry still in infancy: Sands' chairman The world's gaming industry is still in its infancy, US gaming tycoon Sheldon Adelson said Wednesday. Adelson, chairman of Las Vegas Sands, last month took his successful formula of combining gaming with entertainment to the southern Chinese enclave of Macau, and says he wants to build more "mini Las Vegas" around the world. ADVERTISEMENT The 2.4 billion-US-dollar Venetian Macao is the world's largest casino-resort, a gaudy mix of baccarat, shops and Venetian canals that aims to accelerate Macau's heady transformation from gambling haven to Asia's top entertainment draw. That is just the beginning, said Adelson, who is also building the Marina Bay Sands casino, convention and entertainment facility in Singapore. "I see the gaming industry as being in its infancy," said Adelson, who is ranked by Forbes magazine as the sixth richest man in the world, worth 26.5 billion US dollars. "It's just beginning in the world because the world is recognising that gaming is something more than just gambling... so gaming has evolved from gambling dens into Disneylands for adults," he said at the Forbes Global CEO Conference of business leaders. "It's one of the many elements of entertainment that adults want to enjoy." Adelson said in February that Asia has room for eight to 10 Las Vegas-style strips offering gaming and entertainment facilities. "Maybe I am off a little bit. Maybe it's eight, maybe it's 12 but there are other parts of the world where we can convert gambling dens into cities of entertainment," said Adelson, citing Europe, Russia and even the Middle East. Adelson expressed confidence his Singapore venture will succeed. Malaysia's Genting International is developing the city-state's second casino resort. Only two gaming projects have been approved by local authorities. "This will be a duopoly and of course any place that has a duopoly will be very profitable but very high investment," Adelson said. Local newspapers last month quoted Las Vegas Sands president and CEO William Weidner as saying the original 3.6 billion US dollar cost of Marina Bay Sands could swell by as much as 1.44 billion dollars. But he was quoted as saying the project could still open as planned in 2009. |

Genting won't to be contra that will make you make a few thousands overnight!Genting is a counter that you need to treat as FD!Buy when you are comfortable with the price, sell when you happy with the earning....it will take slightly longest that others, but the return will be good. Be patient! Waiting for my year end bonus and will top up more if price still maintain.Kaisu singaporean will not make you wait unless your retirement...remember, few months back, genting is $1++, why? Genting will be in play when it got the licence to gamble...you can wait till then, but price maybe higher a bit...thanks |

Wah ! if retire at 85, company will have to get you a nurse to look after you and you will be moving around (if still can) with a walking stick. No lah, retiremnet will be 65 and then 67. Can see your $$ (1m) lah. Happy retirement !! |

idea buy to hold until casino open 2010 ..... if you can hold until retirement your 5 lots will worth maybe 100k..... look at genting M'sia rm 0.50 cents to highest rm > 20.00 well the facts and figures never lies....btw a casino will bring in good profits no matter how the economy performs... IT"S ALWAYS A SAFE BETS.... BETTER HURRY before NO MORE BETS......... to pick up some.....more
