Private sectors still ok. But with DIC n Tamasick huge loses in financial sectors, stat board dun hope for good bonus this yr. Esp those gratuity n plans tied to investments. AK kena slashed 80k while retired owing to the above.

What is the use of just paycut of 10-25% for temasek top staffs? They should be fired for losing more than 10 billions usd just like that. I wonder how many years of taxpayers sweat is gone just like that? In pte sectors thet would have been fired, since they asked for pte sector pay, than they should be fired and retrenced like the pte sector did! |

Can bring in foreign talent so having a small pool of talent is not an issue anymore. For a small red dot,why do we need so many hands? 10 years ago, u get sandwiched during peak hours on MRT. 10 years on,still the same.How? If u drive, you have to contend with ERP gantries sprouting like mushrooms on this island. So how?

Just my personnal view...no pay cut for lower income and those effected by global down turn...freeze oni over the next two to three years...pending, those not happy can resign, is welcome, retired one is allow to go for cheaper work, higher pay one - pay cut or deploy to be pay lower for the same job as less work is available..those not effected, more call for multi tasking, those got no work - there is plenty of job available...oni 1 or don't 1 to work hard, those earning a few millions should earn a dollar now can still very much staying alive...untouch by global down turn, not just 15%-25% pay cut.

In whatever way it need to get done, get it over with, it take time...till yr 2010..err maybe in 2011-2012, then oni can see some light d other side, meanwhile we has to worry over now our immediate rice bowl. If we follow the angmo way, like some rookies can rackless toppled an establised bank n even almost 40 year of FED experience can almost admit mistake is made n some companies here start retrenching, we will be like them sooner then expected...I was thinking why some here don't admit their mistake or misQ, somemore can take louder. Anyway we has option, they don't, they has oni potatos n chip, while we has pototos, rice, even noodles, not enuff still, got many veg to select, our many ancient way of trading has survival thousand of year. We need another Zheng Ho to work on, not another Green and span work. |

General who don't win battle, but lost d war, should be demoted or be send to err...cannot mention lehh, Err...i was thinking what's happening in Sri Lanka now (within 7 hours flight). Anyway we still have plenty in our war chest, eunff to fight any day, hoping to do better to fight another battle and eventually win the war...Ya.

As this is a commerical decision and not govment decision, No ministries should retrench, Oni can be retrench is those making commerical decision to LOST many billions one, ministeies who make the cut earn, can not automatic earn promotion, those don't go to.....that how we LOST the war, but not the battle....just like our next door Xex chief refuse to enknowledge failure, instead bark like mad dog | ||||

No ministries will be cut...as leader they lead and must be promoted, Oni Tamesick people's one like losing many $Billion of dollar need to be retrench..after retrench then apply for lower pay job. So that the next generation will not have so much headache and oso our $$$ LOST is more then enuff to top our retiring a/c and with plenty of reserve left for investment. I understand leader must lead and not leak, We follow ONI....??? what that...follow..oni..!!!

DBS axed employees alrdy kena fired by NTUC Sec Gen, uncle Lim. Angmoh no sympathy ones. Gov 2.3b or 2.9 b financing back up for industries, all levels. A confident boost to the market. Tamsick top brass pay cut to spearhead the current helping reducing opt cost of coy is a firmed yalkstick for others to follow, including stat board. Henceforth, the same no. of minister will still be present for the parl meeting, to come. Parl meeting on 22 Jan 09 , no spare seat liao. However, in certain areas, retrenchment ultimately is still unavoidable. | ||||

So the PM and his cabinet will take a pay cut too? Wonder the cabinet also have retrenchment policy?Some Ministers may need to be retrenched too.Like to see that. |

Newspaper say there will be announcement about whether to have pay cut for civil service. If the largest employer in Singapore cut pay, then I think the economy will go downhill faster as more people cut spending. |
