Some positive breath from the market ..... Bargain hunting and investors taking stock of current financial crisis... For one, Dow has break thru the 9000 level and Europe are mostly in the greener pasture... Hmmm....lelong over??? Happy Hunting

AK, why sudden pessimism??? No doubt recent global crisis is unprecedented to most, but the alarm already went off since last year August when Sub-prime surface then. In fact, quite surprise at the resistance of holding off..... the breakdown seems to erupt end of Sept and beginning of Oct. Amaze at the degree of fall though when the market took a dive. Cheer up .... at least, the prices come down to a decent level, some even at lelong price. Happy Hunting

At least one big fish, got the guts to buy big in a irrational market. If the rest of the big boys jump in like him now we might have a rally soon i guess. Hopefully this is one of sign the market might be stablilsing soon. Need more big boys to buy the distress stock at undervalue price to reflect the true value of the stocks. Warren Buffet my investment idol. When he died charities will have 40 bilion , i am wonder will it solve some of the problem in the world. |

that buffett parriot cry may not be applicable to current global financial crisis situation, as many perceive that this is the worst what they see in their life time. Totally can't predict and hv trend to follow the global market movement. D X factor governing the current global markets, more or less in infinity.

At a time when most stocks are very 'cheap' ie. low in price compared with previously, it must be noted that at such lower prices, further downside moves will be proportioantely 'magnified' in percentage terms compared to when the prices are high |

I think a good strategy now is to go for value investing for the long term. The problem lies with calculating the "value". Since different people have different perspective of value and risk appetite, it is really up to each individual to choose an appropriate price and stock to enter. http://research.uobkayhian.com/research/content.show.action?filename=2008101407355878359925832.pdf The above research report(page 23) shows a list of companies with their Book Value(BV) and their Stock Beta(Risk). Its very helpful to anyone to determine the value and risk they wish to take. |

Seems like investor negative mood is scoring a lelong market, good time to pick value stock at a reasonable price.....not cheap .....but reasonable. Such situation is hard to come by .....slowly accumulating as nobody knows where is the bottom. Happy Hunting |

stocks are market driven. gloomy market has no strength to push the prices of stocks higher and higher. if the prices could remain flat that are the bonuses. are we in recession now, the answer is definite true. at this moment, most of sporean may not feel it. say one or two mths later when retrenchment commences gradually then that is the time people will feel the pinch. ha ha, minister over the other side had warned citizens working here to perpare for the impending retrenchment ahead. |

The real test begin todays ..... will the good time last....for how long??? From the bullish stance in early trade to subsequent profit taking ......hmmm........ the question comes to mind: - To sell or to hold ( for those who recently buy in )????? - To sell now and buy back later ( for those who is still holding )???? Insecurity filled the atmosphere, take before it fall again, hence, volatility is for sure.... Has confidence level resume??? Yes??? Looking from perspective ... recent co-ordinated effort by global govt. provide the necessary shot in the arm ensuring the stability market is yearning for. But the fall is similar to letting out steam after a good run .... ha ha.... Stay cool ...... Happy Hunting

See how sentiments flow ..... flip flop flip... Yet, from CNA forum, noticed many experienced investors are dead sure that today rebound is technical in nature... Don't go in .... a trap .....more to fall......stay out.... Logical??? Maybe??? Maybe not??? One thing for sure is the market is constantly changing and few can forecast correctly... Experience build over time sometime become a hinder / stubborn nature - expecting the same as in the past. But, situation is never the same, so is the pool of audiences / investors... There is no right or wrong decision ....just be cautious and nimble... Happy Hunting

Fantastic rebound by STI today, Europe is up on average 6% and Dow around 4% now.... Hopefully it is not short live but concerted effort do bear fruits for now.... But we are not out of the wood and people are still nervous.....

What a week it must be for all investors, market fall thru by 15% on average (25% - 10%) within a week, see red and blood all over the global market. What happened??? How can that be??? Support gone overnight??? Most must be silently praying  and hope a miracle will arise for coming trading session.
However, all is not lost, following are some of the factors:- 1. much of market euphoria has been removed making the pricing reasonable or attractive. 2. concerted effort by global govt. 3. investors for long term investment still exist. 4. smart investor still exist, best eg. WB who has waited patiently for 10 years before he made his move recently. 5. how much more can be bear the falling??? well for speculation - no comments, for investing - buy what you know and buy at a certain level of buffer. Perception, I think, is what dictate the sentiments in the market. As a common analogy, is the glass half cup full or empty, is how one choose to look at it. Happy Hunting
