Well... there will develop a black market to overcome the fuel ban. IT is easy to have a black market in places like Johore Bahru. It is difficult to implement the law faithfully there where the Police is less than clean. A couple of dollars and you would get the discounted fuel in the black market. Won't be surprised legitimate businesses might also "brunja" the law enforcers to close one eye while filling up foreign cars. |

FUEL BAN: JB kiosks loss of business (look like it go to lose alot , much more then they wanted). Expect at least half to 2/3 business down within the arc on food, oil entertianment, accessories, retails, wholesales, even their factory may be effected or shift out and Senai airport business down. lomg term effect may be felt immediately on Iskanda Development, sitting next to Gelang Patah Forming an arc. Other side oil hikes causes strike, heng not wide spread n no fatality as in 1988. If our friend lifted the fuel subsidy, the poor one will monkeys do monkeys follow loh. Who suffer? Who are the majority of rich one??? The same parrot cry of protecting ubi putra could be used again by the politicians and even the local leow. Worst, the poor illegal immigrants may take advantage to cause unrest over the country. Ayoh, now really hv to blame the speculators on CO leow. |

This is the real thing...d real reason why...!!! ???. second finance minister, Nor Mohamed Yakcop was quoted saying by The Star daily. "The prime minister will announce it," he said at a press conference in Singapore without elaborating. The scheme is expected to be introduced in a few months. In morning Asian trade, New York's main oil futures contract, light sweet crude for July delivery was at 131.07 dollars per barrel after hitting new record highs of more than 135 dollars a barrel earlier this week. Malaysia, a net oil exporter, pays a hefty fuel subsidy of 45 billion ringgit (14 billion dollars) based on the oil price of 120 dollars per barrel. The government's total subsidy bill, including food items, has already hit the 50 billion ringgit mark for the year, and spiralling fuel prices will stretch government spending further, Nor Mohamed said according to state Bernama news agency. "If we do not do anything, we will have to spend more on subsidy but we are definitely doing something," he said. Malaysia's state oil giant, Petronas has come under fire by the opposition for not using more of its oil revenues to increase subsidies but Nor Mohamed said the country has to stop relying on Petronas. "The income from Petronas is not going to last forever. By 2014, we may be a net importer of oil. This money has to be used in income-generating activities so that when we have no oil, we still have income from these investments," he said. |

teeth53, thank u for such beautiful map of majapahit empire. The majapahit capital city looks like located at present day Surabaya. Was Surabaya the capital of Majapahit? Read the Majapahit women very slim and nice looking one. I being to Surabaya and the girls look fantast.. majapahit descendents probably? |

So who claim who???, or even our little island seen memorial time. Since memorial time Johor or maybe KL under Mati time 1 2 claim.....then it's better to start goback, goback, goback n replay again. This source mentioned of Majapahit expansions has marked the greatest extent of Majapahit empire. For Indonesians in later centuries, Majapahit became a symbol of past greatness. May I give you one good example about sea territory. Look at Falkland island. It is much much further from UK (one in northern hemisphere and one one the southern tip of South Americal) than Petra Branca is from Singapore... Falkland island belongs to UK... Another example, Gilbrater, it is on the southern tip of Iberia peninsula, it also belongs to UK. Distance is never a problem! (sorry if this appears rude)
Singapore was part of Johor? That was pre Stamford Raffles time. Ever since, we were never part of Johor. We were part of the East India which belonged to UK. We did merge with Malaysia for a brief period of 3 years.. they kicked us out, remember?
