Creative gained 10c to $10.20 with low vol. It is good to see that local retail investors are still accumulating this stock. So, for those who bought it, good luck! Should see some profit when it goes up! i am still accumulating it. ( This is not an inducement to buy however ). |

Let's hope so, Chipchip66 .... But I doubt it due to its Q4 results below released last month: Sales for the fourth quarter were $230.9 million, compared to sales of $305.4 million for the same quarter last year. Sales for the 2006 fiscal year were $1.1 billion, compared to $1.2 billion for the previous fiscal year.
Net loss for the fourth quarter was $12.7 million with a loss per share of $0.15, including a $10 million tax credit. This compares to a net loss of $31.9 million with a loss per share of $0.38 for the same quarter last year including an investment gain of $9.3 million. Excluding the investment gain, net loss for the same period last year was $41.2 million with a loss per share of $0.49.
Net loss for the 2006 fiscal year was $118.2 million, with loss per share of $1.42, including investment gains of $18.9 million and one-time charges of $41.6 million primarily related to goodwill and restructuring charges for 3Dlabs. Excluding the investment gains and one-time charges, net loss for the 2006 fiscal year was $95.4 million, with loss per share of $1.15. This compares to net income of $0.6 million with EPS of $0.01 for the previous fiscal year, including a non-cash impairment charge of $65.2 million and investment gains of $74.4 million. Excluding the non-cash impairment charge and investment gain, net loss for the previous fiscal year was $8.6 million with a loss per share of $0.10.

Ya, dividend of US25c (tax exempt) in December will be about $380 per $10000 that will translate to about 3.8%. I hope Mr. Sim will spend the USD100million on his shareholders rather than waste it on marketing!! |

With the 100m pay-off by Apple to Creative, there is no way both companies will sit down and rub shoulders .... why pay off and then work together? Apple just want to settle the legal suits fast to focus on other competitors (but sadly not Zen cos its a spark of dust in Apple's eyes). As for waiting for Creative's divendend, its peanut compare to the money vested for it. |

Everybody already know ipod is the market leader. Creative would also have known that their products may not sell as well but in terms of quality, it should be on par or even better but bcos of the marketing strategy, people somehow prefer ipod to Zen. maybe Creative should change its MP3 player name to iZen. So, what does people want to buy from the market? The market leader of course. They don't care if it is expensive, less functions, they just want to get it! Just like buying stocks, people will buy market leaders or blue chips. So why is Apple teaming up with Creative when it has a major share in the MP3 market, I would think it is bcos it realises how well Creative makes its products. Remember Apple tried to court Creative in MP3 market's infancy, it is bcos Apple realise Creative has got the technology and creativeness! So with all those Zune and Sandisk coming in, Apple is not resting on its laurels. Let's wait and see if Apple and Creative would be complementing each other and make more money!!!! |

Creative still no match Apple till now on American soil. Not to mention against MSFT, Scandisk and Sirius .... ------------------ September 05, 2006 01:32 PM ET A Sirius Threat to the iPod?Is the Stiletto in? That's the question of the day among the tech chic. But it's not shoes with sticks -- as my three-year-old daughter calls them -- that are the rage, it's radio. Wired News reports that Sirius Satellite Radio is on the verge of introducing the Stiletto 100, a portable music player that boasts both a satellite receiver and built-in Wi-Fi. Naturally, the news is being billed as another blow to Apple's iPod franchise. But is it really? I'm not so sure -- though, like iTunes and the iPod, the Sirius combo offers zero friction between device and programming. That's an improvement over the newest Sansa offering from SanDisk and more like Inside Value pick Microsoft's forthcoming Zune player, which has the investor in me mildly worried. Nevertheless, Sirius' primary advantage in this market -- a built-in satellite tuner -- is also its largest weakness. Indeed, the Web has become just as relevant a medium for delivering content as orbital space or the terrestrial airwaves. What other reason is there for Sirius offering its service via the Web and then, in turn, to Stiletto customers? Answer: There is no other reason. And that leaves the door open for Apple. No one really believes it's going to be difficult for the Mac maker to add Wi-Fi to its forthcoming iPod models. And most believe that Apple will focus on creating new movie players, with downloadable flicks added to the iTunes library. What no one seems to consider is that iTunes streams Internet radio today. Do you really believe that Apple couldn't add subscription streams from XM Satellite Radio to the iTunes service? I don't. Remember, the Apple-iPod formula isn't simply about programming or the device. It's about the entire experience of making it easy to listen to, buy, store, and organize digital media in concert with a portable device. Right now, iTunes and the iPod together do that better than any of the alternatives. I don't see Sirius -- or, frankly, anyone outside of Microsoft -- changing that any time soon. |

I still think Creative is on a downtrend. The RSI and Acc/Dist are going downhill. |

Strong resistance at $10.10. Buyers keep coming in to support at this level. All bad news factored in. Creative will announce dividends soon.Hope they will give a special dividend for the Apple Pay-out since Mr.Sim is such a generous man. |

Apple launching new iPod nano next week after paying off Creative last month! Its shares up 4% last nite. Proves that Apple just want to settle the legal suits fast so that there's no complications in launching new products before MSFT's Zune comes out. Market share is important now! Creative just can't do anything about it - the 100m compensation looks like $1 now. ------------------------ SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The long-anticipated upgrade to Apple Computer Inc.'s iPod is likely to be one step closer to reality, with the company sending a typically cryptic invitation to an event next week in San Francisco.
Apple emailed invitations Tuesday to the Sept. 12 event, with the notice proclaiming "It's showtime" and with the Apple logo set against a background of spotlights. Based on past Apple invitations and events, the invite probably gives more than a little hint about what the company has in store for its upcoming gathering.
Industry analysts and watchers have come out recently saying that Apple is likely to unveil a new version of its iPod nano player that will come with an increase in memory beyond its current 4-gigabyte maximum level. There also has been speculation that Apple has reached agreements with several major film studios to begin selling movies online through the company's iTunes store.

Yup, Nostradamus ... From what I see , the introduction of Zune was quite sudden by MSFT. And it is coming out for Christmas this year effortlessly! I don't think MSFT have time to develop a new operating tech so fast for its Zune - given the short notice. Its much anticipated Vista was made known much earlier but still not launched yet due to quality problems. But with Zune, no delay and problem at all. Too smooth ... I suspect Creative will be paid-off again, but like what you have mentioned, maybe 20m. |
