More interestingly, UOBKayHian has been buying its Thailand's subsidiary stocks since last year August. Now with the appreciation of the Thai Baht, assuming that the stock price does not change since the stock buy begins, the value of the stocks would have gone up. The Thailand subsidiary stock buy information can be found in SGX website. |

Interestingly, with all the good results in FY06, UOBKH shares don't seem to move upqards... it has been hovering around $1.50 for some time already. |

Interestingly is that UOBKayHian incorporated a credit company last year in September. It can now use its pool of money to generate more money. This I feel will add value to the company. Financials are cyclical and should trading volume go down, uobkh and brokerages will do badly. I dont think these stocks are safe havens, but that is my personal opinion and I may be wrong. I remember reading that over one bull bear cycle brokerages make poor retrurns. That study was for US brokerages, no studies ofr local brokerages. UOBKH has a high dividend yeild so I think that there may be some margin of safety. To me it is not an obvious pick. Does anyone have any data on what the returns to shareholders have been with dividends reinvested for UOBKH over one cycle say 2001 to present ? |

Victorian, Can share if there is a financial report of DBS Vickers? I would like to read their reports. For 9 mths FY06, KH already reported 70% increase in profits. Q4 is a bumper quarter. I would expect KH to report profits much more than 50% |
