To summarise in short, I see that US or China market may crash pretty soon, maybe next week. I am out for this reason. At this moment, SPC is still making good profit from refining. |

thanks good logic Jackjames, sir....but I guess however I also heard china stocks more likely to correct rather than burst.. understand PE 50x and not like 150x of dotcom days; besides SPC is a defensive stock.. sales may not apply to this stock... but I thot current 5.15 is alredi good value, I just got vested again.. and continue to collect... |

1402, could share your reasons? I think that if we assume that SPC's refining are at full capacity, particularly with scheduled maintenance shutdowns, a short term drop in oil prices should not significantly affect their profit margins, hence eps etc. In any case although nigerian workers might end their strike, it would only take one or two oilers to be kidnapped there and then the oil price go up $1 etc..., |

Directors sell share for quite many reasons, needed $$ for personal need, needed extra fund to invest, and of course if the company is not doing well, he may throw his shares before the general public gets the wind. However if a director buys shares, there is only one reason, is to make $$. If the company he is working in does not look good, I am sure he will not buy. After the director bought the shares, he will need to cash them out at some point of his life. I believe even Warren Buffett will do so at some point. But that does not indicate that the company is in ill health. Here I am saying not a sure thing to see this tell-tale sign as good stock, but one of the way to evaluate your purchase of any shares. Of course check out the FA of the company is the first thing one shd do before buying the shares....Just my 2 cents worth of thoughts to share. |

good for you to stay with SPC till now. i know a guy who managed to catch SPC at 4.1-4.2 and sold off at 4.5-4.6 without collecting dividends, how sad is that, he did not realise he had the gem in his hands. he is still waiting for market correction for many weeks since then. |

Hi idea168 and 1402, Sorry. I wrote wrongly. SPC does not sell crude oil which I initailly thought it is one of their source of revenue. That's why I am surprised many people seem to relate price of crude oil with SPC's share price. Anyway, I have no balls to enter at 4.04. I thought it was heading for free fall at that time. Volume was thin too back then. Entered only at around 4.30. Ya hopefully SPC will hit $6 soon. |
