For the original shareholders, one dollar investment became $ 5866 at IPO price of $0.88 and now $ 2333. If I am in their shoes, will I buy back now ? |

Par value is not relevant for valuation purposes. NTA n P/E is more appropriate. The Net asset value (NAV) per share @ 2H07 = 21c (SGP) but this include goodwill n intangiblae assets of about 7c (SGP), the net balance = 14c (Net Asset Value = NTA). At current px of 35c it is trading at 2.5x NTA that makes it expensive especially after the profit warning and uncertainty in future earnings..... |

Par value of the stock is US$ 0.0001 or about S$ 0.00015. Based on the current px of S$ 0.35, it is about 2333 times. Do you think the original ang mo shareholders will want to buy back ? Even if the px drops tp S$0.10, it is still 666 times. |

LMA's price shd remain firm as long as no more placement holders sell them. (The free float held by retail investors - about 70k shares) May be members of the fund need to cash at the wrong time. , that's why the funds have to sell LMA shares also at the wrong time. (when it decides to issue a profit warning)!! |

Let SJ participants not behave as if they are "Prophets of Doom". The only beneficiaries of LMA's current downturn is LMA's"ang moh" shareholders. Most of the investors who bought during IPO are "bleeding". Let's see what happens on Friday 19 October (T+5). If the price remains steady after Friday, can we assume that the "dagger" has stopped falling? Right? Wish to emphasise again that fundamentally LMA is OK. The only problem is may be the manipulators just don't trust the "ang mohs". Look at a classic example, Starcruise. Not profitable every quarter, but it does not rattle the shareholders by issuing any "profit warning" !! The stock can move north like a missile, instead of nosediving! God knows when the "angmohs" will activate the share buy back mandate !! May be when LMA becomes a disgraceful 10 cents stock? When they buy back then, the only beneficiaries will again be the "ang moh" shareholders!!! |

jackjames, ocbc securities allow 1 week settlement (not T+3) - so if buy on Fri., forced selling kicks in 1 week after, on Mon. (PM trade). Hope Oct 19 Crash anniversary does not repeat itself otherwise more bloodshed...... |

As quoted from Larry William's book earlier...... "What you don't want to do is catch falling daggers." "You wait until they stick in the floor and stop quivering, then and only then do you pick them up." The dagger is still falling. |

OIC, tnx for the clarification. That means I also Tech-short ....long time ago and still haven't done anything as yet especially now in such a sandy situation. You can actually fell the sinking feeling. I think LMA rely too much on current products and technology and my concern is that their major customer is the US Hospitals and with the sinking US$, profit margins are squeezed and plus their high running costs.....How to survive?.....maybe depend on legal actions and more legal actions.......sigh!................Lawyers are the eventual Winner! Cheers! |

Hi ten4one, technical short means that you own the shares of the company your are shorting - you sell first, then buy back at lower prices later. This is very different from naked short when you do not own the shares you shorted. Like I said, I have not bought back and judging from the tradings, don't need to buy back so soon. Can wait till I see a confirmed stability in prices.... |

Hi stewartgoh, how did you do a 'technical short' or do you meant you borrowed scripts to short so as to prevent a 'force-cover'? On a lighter note: LMA should not drop like a stone as they've the so-called Stonebreaker that can break stone into fine sands Floating like sands is a more likely scenario as BBs have done their sellings! Don't be blinded by the sands though! Cheers! |

Yes jackjames, I manage to technical short LMA @ $0.39, but I have not bought back. Was thinking it will drop like a stone after the two disclosure of BBs selling, so the opening price of $0.38 was no surprise. I shorted when the price surprised me when it rised to $0.39. Think I can afford to wait till it is lower, maybe like what you guys are saying ... around 30c. Else, will just treat as money lost, albiet lesser after some rounds of shorting .... |

Agree with you. Looking at the fundamental, even with the analysis recommended price of around 0.37 now, i am sure it will go back to 0.5 in the next 1 to 3 quarter. I am in for longterm. I prefer buying in to average rather than sell down. I have done that with a few stocks. Key is to have holding power. good luck and let's see. Just trust in your own judgement and bear the burnt if you lose. |

Tks for the clarification. Yes, greed can "personify" in both ways. Sometimes, when u hope a share will downtrend further after you sell it, it rebounds (so cutting loss on the downtrend is NOT always the best option unless there's real bad news abt the company) |
