that man, if the mother shares drop below 60c...then the rights will become worthless... for the moment, GIL is still trading at 62.5 c, and Rts at 0.01.. for people who already owns the rts, it will cost only 0.60to get the mother share, which is at a discount to the mkt px. For those who do not own the rt, and they first buy the rights and convert, it costs them 0.01+0.60 = 0.61.. (plus broker's fee say $30), so there is still incentive for people to convert their rt to the mother shares. Again, if the px breaks downward to 50+cents range, the whole thing about converting rights becomes meaningless. One is better off buying the mother shares from the market directly. If you don't intend to own more mother shares, you can sell your rts at 0.01 x 20lots. It will still get you $200 less broker's fee. |

not sure how true, but i heard that some broking houses spotted that the boss is disposing the rights, as they cannot afford to put in extra money. then it will be hard to see the price rebound. |

Hi, If today Genting will to fall below 60 cents, does it mean if i buy from market, buy the mother share it would be more economical.. what about my eg. 20 lots of rights issued to me.. i have yet to go to the ATM to paid for the rights... so Suppose if i buy at market today, buy the mother share at eg. mkt price 58 cents. and i dont make payment to the ATM, is my rights issued auto forfeited or do i have to do anything to terminate the rights issued to me.. and any cost to forfeit my rights. pls advice. never expect Genting to be diving downwards...guess many aunties and uncles will want to plunge into a good bargain when they see it 50+ cents...today channel 8 news on Sands IR...their chief mentioned that the construction costs greatly increased by quite some percentage due to the supply of sand lacking... they are adding on their finance from banking institutes... yes no doubt we may see an experienced Genting team management....well, that's the internal part...but external environmental factors are beyond their control... |

hi leolim818, hers is just sharing procedure and information, not a call to buy, it is your call on such a decision. Q: I have another concern regarding the genting right. If I buy the right (entitlement) at 0.015 as indicate below, and I need to purchase (Apply) the right 0.60 to convert to mother share, so where should I purchase the right 0.60? Through ATM also? Through security firm? A: If you bought rights entitlements during the rights trading period (end on Aug 30) , CDP will send you the Application Form for Rights Shares (From B) and the rights prospectus the market day after your transaction. However, you will not be eligible to apply for excess rights shares. To Apply your Rights shares entitlement ( so that Rights get converted to mother shares) you need to make payment to CDP before last day (5 Sep) by ATM or by post (ARE form B+Payment+their envelop to CDP). Q: Can you please explain what the different between Gen Int R and Gen Int R600? which one should I buy + 0.60 to convert to mother share? A: The board lot size to trade is dependent on the ratio of the rights issue. Since Gen Int right issue is 3 for 5, trading of the entitlements will be in board lots of 600 shares, the Gen Int R600 is for 600-share per lot. For those who have multiplier of 5000 mother shares they will have nice numbers of Rights such as 3000, 6000 etc, Gen Int R is 1000-Right per board lot. For your case, since you are talking about buying the Rights Share during trading period ( end on Aug 30), you should buy Gen Int R which is 1000 per lot so you do not get into odd lot of 600. |

Thanks.. pension: remember the govt fought for a long time for moral/vice concerns whether to have it build or not... guess since we HAVE build it because we did not want to lose tourist $$, the next thing best thing to keep a moral upperhand is to stay out of this investment. while we are all turning a blind eye to the trouble maker (not worth mentioning his nicks even), there's another person here who constantly praises that nonsensical person, to feed his ego. Well, although this is a free forum and everyone can say what they want, I would rather not see unconstructive praises. You are just trying to cause more irritation, damaging your own reputation, $come$go. Lastly, we can all tell that the troublemaker has nowhere to go but to squat here like a pest. |

the rights was issued of course to get more cost to build the IR. I also think they are moving the wrong way. I still have confident to Genting as they are rich and they are experience, should be all right. If they fail, they still have government to support, no worry. |

both dropped like no reason. Anyway, what is and will be its nature of business? Seems that it is gambling our money away first before the IR is up, in case its licence application gets delayed. Can't imagine if the price drops below 60 cents after the expiry of rights? What is the points of issuing rights? Someone must be behind such a drop. |
