I believe it'll rebound in a while as the economic outlook is improving. One reason for the unexplained dip could be that the BBs are cashing out to buy into counters that have been stagnant for a while which have more potential to go up, like Cosco, GAR etc.. | ||||||||||||||||||||

SIA share has dip badly for the past 3 days . From a high of 15.20 then free falling to 14.44 now is SIA share affected by the Tiger IPO . I thought it is no . |

Ha ha, airplane fuel is fuel between gasolene n kerosene, hence d fuel smell is diff fr our car fuel. Need high compression to gain thrust during combusion. Airliner normally stock up their fuel by hedging in d open market. No real time order one. However, hedging may save money and even sometime losing money due to CO px variant. If I not mistaken, local airline lost 2 bil in oil hedging in 2008. But, coy claimed d loses be placed outside d book, not affecting the coy FY report card, paper report.

Singapore Airlines (SIAL.SI) and state investor Temasek Holding
(TEM.UL) will not sell their shares in budget carrier Tiger Airways in
its planned initial public offering, according to a draft prospectus
filed on Monday.
Indigo, which owns 24% of Tiger, will divest part of its stake,
while the family that owns Irish low-cost airline Ryanair (RYA.I), with
16% of the Singapore budget carrier, will cut its stake if an
overallotment option is triggered.
Tiger, 49% owned by Singapore Airlines, plans to raise a
samller-than-expected $200-250 million in its IPO to fund the purchase
of planes and pay down loans, sources told Reuters last week.
The draft prospectus did not say how much Tiger, one of Asia's largest budget carriers, plans to raise through the IPO.
Tiger said: "We intend to use our net proceeds from the offering
to fund the equity portion of our planned acquisition of Airbus A320
aircraft and the associated aircraft pre-delivery payments."
It said the proceeds may also be used to establish potential new
airline and/or operating bases, to repay all outstanding short-term
loans which have been used to finance its aircraft pre-delivery
payments and for working capital.
The offering would be the first IPO by an airline company since
India's Jet Airways (JET.BO) in February 2005, according to Thomson
Reuters data.
Tiger has grown rapidly since it began operations in Singapore in
September 2004 and briefly turned profitable in its third year of
service.
The carrier, which also operates out of Australia, has 17 Airbus
A-320 aircraft in service with orders for another 55 A-320s that will
be delivered between now and 2016.
Its Singapore operations are profitable, but the carrier clocked a
$50.8 million loss for the financial year to March 2009 due to costs
incurred in starting up its Australia-based operations.
Besides Singapore Airlines, Tiger's other owners are: Temasek,
which holds 11% stake; RyanAsia, a company controlled by the founding
family of Irish airline RyanAir (RYA.I), with 16%; and Indigo Partners
LLC, an investment firm, which owns the remaining stake.
Citigroup (C.N) and Morgan Stanley (MS.N) act as joint global
coordinators, lead managers, bookrunners, issue managers and
underwriters for the offering.
DBS Group Holdings (DBSM.SI) is the joint lead manager and coordinator for the Singapore public offering and joint underwriter.
