x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Share buy backs are one of the way a company could reward its shareholders when it has excess cash. The shares bought are kept as treasury shares thereby reducing the number of outstanding shares in the market. This enhances the value of the remaining shares in the market as it increases the proportion of shares held by the shareholders. This is opposite of a private share placement which is dilutive since it reduces the proportion of shares held by shareholders. The reduced number of shares will hence increase the EPS and NAV of the stock. This makes the shares more attractive.
