Regional Market Focus Singapore

The benchmark STI closed higher to 3,382.29 (+0.37%). The 2.1bn shares traded were worth S$1.4bn in value.
According to a report by The Business Times, Golden Agri. could be ripe for a buyout by its largest shareholder, Widjaja family, as the stock trades at 36% below the value of its net assets.
Top picks for the year are Pan United (Buy, TP: S$1.21), SIAEC (Buy, TP: S$6.10) & Boustead Singapore (Buy, TP: S$1.80). Pan United is a dominant supplier to the construction industry in Singapore and we expect the company to perform well given the strong pipeline of infrastructure work over the next few years. SIAEC is a key beneficiary of the aviation growth story in the region and offers excellent dividend yields. There are hidden gems within Boustead Singapore and we believe that the stock would continue to re-rate as the market appreciates the economic moat in its businesses.

Looks like a reversal from the low of 0.52. Revenue increase over the year, recent significant decrease in net profit i think is mainly due to COGS and the volatility in commodity prices which are all short term. Long term i think the price should stable at 0.66

50c is a obvious near support but given the already massive retreat before earnings, 50c could be broken if earning disapoints badly, plus theres the ex dividen jinx effect. typically stock crash thru double peaks and head and shoulders by a large extend. Given no light seen in the forseenable year, 42c might be a better short term punt support. No one knows for sure .Maybe expert tape readers can chip in.

Both technically and fundamentally bearish.

Basically prev ave cpo price is at 3000rm , for the first 3q its at 2400 meaning for the next forseenable year , the 6b revenue is going to fall to 4.2b est. The cogs is 4.4b but wages are rising so it could perhaps cut it by 10% only and its considered not bad so u get 4b cogs where gross profits is at 200m which can hardly cover the 1b administrative and financing cost. So it gona report a loss unless palm prices shoots back but its hard because now it at 2250 and china birdflu is getting more serious and would linger for the next few months then comes the yearend peak harvesting season which boost supply massively.Then prices could hover below 2000 for the rest of the year making it unprofitable if cost cannot be controlled.

The question is how low will it go? Will they revalue back all the biological assets which was marked up 2x from 2010 when palm was 3800. If so actual nav is only 42c making it a good bv support for a short covering punt but if losses are massive and birdflu goes viral , then 32c support could be tested by year end during peak harvest season when palm cpo crash and burn.
