Hlayar Please look no further. The pot of gold lies with the increase in the selling price of the ST. Nowadays, everything is costing more. mrt, bread, noodle, gas. Inview of all these, is it too much to speculate that the price of the ST will go up soon? |

Try queuing this time. I usually never queue as I have not much patience. Well, I made mistakes sometimes, buying at higher price. No one ever knows. Fortunately, 2 cents higher does not mean loss. If I may recall, SPH at 4.xx is actually splitted price from over $20? Can anybody confirm? |

Other that what you people have mentioned, I was thinking maybe SPH should create a separate entity from its existing property holding like Paragon into a Reits and buy more of such property using its reserve for long term investor value. Better still, list the reits to generate more revenue and tap market liquidity. Without any doubt, something good is going to happen, Let's just stay tune! |

How about relesing M1, Starhub and at the same time increasing the price of the ST by a nickel. This will propel SPH to may be $8 |

I think more likely cutting M1 &/or Starhub stakes than revaluation. |

Cutting M1 and/or Starhub stakes? Will it happen? Revaluing Paragon again? It was done rather recently. Will it happen? |

But it did touch 4.6. ::)) Next few weeks easily break 5 bucks as good news like selling M1 starhub and paragon evaluation, and maybe share buyback... Also, this stock's market capitalization is big like slow big elephant. So let's give it abit time to catch up with the cheetahs in the market... :) Cheers... Happy |

It is quite true that SPH does need a catalyst to spark a sudden surge in its share price. Apart from those that were mentioned by Hlayar, how about an increase in the sale price of The Straits Times. Say a nickel. Afterall, it has been quite sometime that the ST has not increased its selling price. BTW, does anyone knows when was the last time ST increased its sale price? Though an increase of only 5 cents, it will amount to an enormous sum. This might be one of the reasons why SPH directors are buying this stock. If this speculation comes true before the year ends, it will be a big, big, ang pow. Good luck to everyone |

SPH is in need of a trigger event. The trigger event could be.....Paragon....any other positive property news...REIT.....new development in multimedia...advertising.....and/or the typical update on increased subscribership....hmmm...not likely...but....it is a buy at this point. |

Despite 4 directors buying the shares, the stock is still hovering around $4.50. When will it ever have a clear break through? |

Yes! Another director(YongPangHow) buy-in 100K at $4.50 from open market trade. This is the 4th director doing so since FY07 result. This counter should outperform soon. |

Farmer: To steal half-phrase from WB : "You should be greedy when others are afraid"....... but I dun see any panic sell down on SPH though STI is down 100pts. I say, let's be greedy and wait patiently for it to come down some more before we buy in for long term safe keeping. I targeted $4.10 - 4.20 ex-div. Ummm.... Great Singapore Sale or fire sale, you name it for yesterday's market. $4.40 might be a good entry price for long term investor. If you minus the dividend, you would get the price of roughly $4.25 (CD=$0.19 one-tier tax). |
