Compared to other water companies, HK has a high recurring income from water treatment rather than construction (like SoundGlobal). Therefore it potentially can convert its water assets into trust. But it will need to double or triple its water assets for it to reach Hyflux status. Revenue soared on a 34.1% and 28.3% yoy jump in construction revenue and recurring water treatment income respectively ? Gross profit margin of recurring water treatment business segment rose from 64.9% for 1Q2013 to 71.2% for 1QFY2014 ? Anticipates completion of scheduled project phases to drive earnings growth on higher expected water discharge fees set by the Chinese government.
