I must have at least six cups a day...and I drink it with baileys cream..(add one table spoon).. do try it if you can.. it is really good.. adding baileys to tea is also very good..... btw, do you folks know how the name coffee comes about? |

a bit more travia about Ginjo; Japanese Government regulations strictly define the meaning of the Ginjo classification. First and foremost is rice milling, which greatly influences the final taste. To legally qualify as a Ginjo (premium) sake, at least the outer 40% of the grain must be milled away. For Daiginjo (super premium sake) at least the outer 50% of the rice kernel must be milled away. On top of that, special rice (not table rice), special yeast, lower fermentation temperatures, longer periods of fermentation, and other labor-intensive techniques must be painstakingly followed in brewing Ginjo-level sake. Premium Ginjo sake is much more delicate, balanced, fragrant, and complex than non-premium sake (sake with less stringent milling requirements). That's why Ginjo sake is best enjoyed slightly chilled, for warming or overchilling premium sake tends to mask or destroy its refined flavors. When you warm a premium sake, you bludgeon its true taste -- you're essentially destroying the flavor intended by the brewer. |

cks, thanks for the education... now I know I've got expensive taste. No wonder I can't afford to enjoy it too often.. the sake... This was introduced by friend's friend when we met him at a Japanese restaurant. He was one of those 'early bird' sent by garmen to do uni study in Japan and probably learnt this expensive habits from then. Choohian: no problem, we can talk about coffee and tea too. I love coffee and tea... just that I'm not connosieurs and I can't tell different kinds of coffee beans. To me, as long as the end product i.e. coffee is aromatic, not sour, it's good. If I don't take a cuppa in the morning, I feel daze the whole day. Any knowledge regarding coffee and tea to share with me? |

woa, Eastonbay.. you are the champion... drink Chablis and Ginjo (pronounced but not spelled Gingyo which refers to Gingyo Bilbao - a Chinese herb which is good for memory) sake!!!! Some titbits on Ginjo Sake. The term "Ginjo" is synonomous with premium sake. Ginjo is not a brand name. It is a style (a grade, category, class) of sake. Ginjo sake is to regular sake what single malt scotch is to regular scotch, or what 100 % agave tequila is to regular tequila. Only 8% to 9% of all sake brewed is Ginjo grade. If you see the term "Ginjo" anywhere on the label, it means the sake you're about to drink is better than 90% of all sake out there. |

quite quiet again.. let's stir up something.. There are prob quite a bit of wine connosieurs or Jiu3 Gui3 around, say what's your favourite liquor/wine/beer? Personally, I like white wine... due to the 'training' in Germany where you can find lots of Riesling.. Like it a little dry, not too sweet. I also like Sauvignon Blanc, from any region/country. My exposure of SBlanc started years ago when I was on a 4 months project in Mauritius. Due to it's proximity to Africa, we had lots of it from South Africa. I still like them but have ventured 'out of Africa' to Chile and those from South America. Good table wine. Those from France, yes.. I like Chablis... haven't got too much money to buy Grand Cru all the time. Others like Louis Jadot, Pouilly-Fuisse or Pouilly Fume hmm.. expensive wine too. Hope this will get the thread going again!! |

(Dow down 150 on Friday...) since you are around... ha ha if & when you are going to Europe do let us know, i think the Fellowship folks jointly should have enough experience to give you recommendations (and fun doing it) that would suit your taste & budget....but suggest you go later as Euro today is at record high levels vs US dollar... |

Hi chinkiasu, I don't really have much impressions of Machu Pichu... right now, my dream is to travel around old Europe for a month. But unfortunately, my high stress job doesn't permit me to take long absence of leave. |

But Hulumas has not appeared since 6/7/07. Hope he was not blown off by the recent SJ storm too. Otherwise, we will miss his bottomless spending power talks here. Btw our Victorious stock prodigy has also not been giving us money making tips too for quite long after the Godfather got lost from SJ. Really would like to welcome our Victorious prodigy's return soon. Hope he hears this call from wherever he is. |
