Does anyone know where there's a big drop in price? Impending results not too good? Or more enormous money paid to the managers? |

Acquisition is immediately yield accretive ? Based on the last trading price of CitySpring's units, we expect the level of yield accretion following the Capital Raising to be at least 10% (after transaction costs and on an annualised basis) for the year ending 31-Mar-2008 Acquisition to be funded through an appropriate combination of debt and equity |

I also question the timing of this announcement. This announcement will maybe affect AscendasIndia Reit IPO tomolo. Simply cuz long term investors may wanna conserve their capital to top up on CS instead. For once I see business strategy at work again. CS is quite shrewd to time their announcement one day before AscendasIndia Reit. Ppl intend to get AscendasIndia may wanna ponder whether to top up more or channel your funds to CS. For me channel to CS is more worth it. Look at the behind support. Without them CS would not have acquire it at such a heavy price tag. Others may differ and favor diversification which I agree. But if have spare monies to choose between CS and AscendasIndia Reit my choice is CS :) |

Very very ambitious acquistion since IPOed!!!! Lucky got Temasek give some help else that amount of monies give birth from where? The total cap of CS also not enuff leh. For once we see the Temasek strength. I am pondering maybe the phrase no sound dog bite dead ppl. Long time I no sound hear from CS and today hear is one very HUGE acquisition!!!! The extra units awarded to the CS mgmt in the last quarter should be open for sale on open market to raise more monies to fund this acquisition. In my mind I tink the first foreign acquistion too ambitious liao I abit worried. It is like not yet learnt to walk start to fly liao :O |

Hopefully the previously high stock price has fetched some good monies for CitySpring to launch this bid with that financial backup. Wonder if they have enuff monies or not. Hope the rival bidders cannot raise the monies in time then CS stand a better chance? |

The Singapore government-owned CitySpring Infrastructure Trust is set to be the preferred bidder for the sale of British utility National Grid Transco Plc's CitySpring is expected to make an announcement today. The fund is advised by Goldman Sachs JBWere with BNP Paribas, SG Australia and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp Australia committed to provide project financing. The consortium is also running with an alternative bond solution. All four shortlisted parties submitted final bids on July 30. The other three are: * Australian Pipeline Trust * Industry Funds Management with Flinders Group advising. HSBC, RBS Australia and Westpac Banking Corp are financing this bid. * Transfield Services Ltd. Media speculation has put the price as high as A$1bn-plus ($850 million-plus) given Basslink's relatively stable cash flows and the credit-worthiness of the offtaker Hydro Tasmania. Rothschild is advising National Grid on the sale. Basslink owns the world's longest underwater power cable, which runs from Victoria to Tasmania. It cost about A$850m to build and was financed with a A$630m limited recourse facility in 2002. The project financing was subsequently refinanced with a A$630m two-year facility in 2004 guaranteed by National Grid. |
