CKS, You are absolutely right....but I like to be conservative in my forecasts. I took only 91 days....(1Q - 365/4) cos start up may not be full production. Reason is, with the conservative estimate, if the stock still looks good value, then anything on the upside is an added bonus. |

I am not waiting for SPC to trend down before buying. I am actually waiting at the sideline for SPC to break out of the band, now band is 6.00-6.50. No pt putting my fund into SPC and get stuck within the band and waiting for the DOW to crash on me while in the mkt. |

Actually, Shplayer sir... I was calculating the days to financial year which is Dec 31.. it should be about 100 days. So the "profit" should be S$ 26.5 million which divided by total share of 515.582 million gives a eps of 5.14cts.... of cos on top of this there is the other existing production though smaller still with oil price now way above USD 60 we should be doing very well.... I would say yr 2007 the eps should be 100cts or even above it given that 1H2007 already 56cts |

idesa168, that's because doesn't trade in and out... on down days.. he will say the same as what he would say on the up days.. that the stock will be going up... I believe he did make comments on down days before.. about buying more.. alamak.. what is more important is making constructive posts than to post something because of the need to, just because one owns a counter.. the forum will then filled with lots of rubbish. Besides, it gives reader the idea that one is trying to talk up or down a counter... absolutely unnecessary. |

CKS, Yes, I have always regarded SPC as a value play. Don't worry too much about the short term ups and downs. If down, and you have more spare $$$ you may want to consider accumulating more. Based on your estimates of contribution from Oyang, it would add approx 4.7 ct per eps for 2007 and if parameters remain the same for 2008, eps contribution from Oyang will be about 18.8 cts. With projected 2007 eps of say 80ct (conservative) and current share price, P/E is 8X, which is still attractive. Furthermore, read the announcements by management on their upstream investments for future growth....I think SPC will see better days yet. Just sit back and wait for generous divvy and watch the share price appreciate. |

I think SPC is still not ready to break out from the band. It's consolidating now. |

Hi Shplayer, many thanks for the good news!!!! With today price of crude around US$80, estimated margin net of extraction costs (say 25 USD) etc should conservatively be US$55 and at production of 8,000 bpd the group should get cool US$440,000 per day and SPC share should be 40% of it or S$265,000 per day ! I really think the SPC counter price at it is, is certainly very value for money.... |

On second thought of the change in SGX price structure, it may not benefit in the commission that we will be paying bcos we pay by a percentage of the transaction. However, I think we may benefit from the ask/bid price structure that we currently have. Example: SPC priced on Friday at $6.25/$6.30. If buyer buys into SPC, he has to pay $6.30, and if he decided to sell immediately after buying, he has to sell at $6.25. Which means upfront, he is making a loss of $0.05 a share of SPC. However if the new price structure kicks in Jan 08, SPC will price at $6.25/$6.26. The upfont loss of immediate selling after buying is just 1 cents as compared to 5 cents. I think like what SGX said, this will improve liquidity in the mkt, and I believe so. For long term investor, we would not see much benefit, but for the short term investors, it greatly improve his chance of exit and entry without much of loss. SGX makes most $$ from the BB where their transaction is much greater than the long term investor. So it's no surprise they will lean towards this sector of investors. |

Agree with you bteohc...I dun see any benefit at all espcially my investment is concentrated at blue chips. Looks like pennies will be in play more than the blue chips, then where is the value of investing? My realtime screen will be flashing non-stop with changes of price fluctuation. How to concentrate on your stock while wanting the other important stock to track movement of the general mkt. Quit...no lah. Shall see situation then. |

The new rule will make trading condition to worsen rather than improvement. The quality of trading will concentrate on penny stock for higher return. To buy DBS at 20.50 one lot comparable to buy PSC - 0.115 - 175 lots. Share movement - 0.005 against movement of 0.02 - One move will give Return $875 against $20. You should avoid quality stock unless you play dividend stock as for trader should focus on penny stock. To breakeven the brokage for the trade, it would take much longer period for high value stock as per movement of 0.02 will be very slow especially the stock did not arouse trading volume. Thinking to quit the stock market next year. |

SGX says that it will help us to reduce costs but I dont see how it helps. We pay a commission that is base on percentage of our trade amount.... |

Does anybody knows that SGX will start to implement change of price structure of securities starting from Jan 2008. The new structure is as follows: Securities BELOW $1.00, per jump is $0.005 (no change) Securities FROM $1.00 TO $9.99, per jump is $0.01 (previous $1-$3=$0.01, $3-$5=$0.02, $5-$10=$0.05) Securities ABOVE $10.00, per jump is $0.02 (previous above $10=$0.10). Which means come Jan 08, SPC will trade $6.70, $6.71, $6.72, etc. I hope by then SPC will be a 2 cents jump kind of stock...trade >$10.00...hehehe! |
