Hi chinkiasu.... I'm not into mini-skirts... much prefer jeans. Anyway, I hate NDP parades... so crowded and so noisy. I took part in a parade last time when I was in secondary school. Some kind of mass display. That was pretty fun. |

my dear Datuk Baseer... as requested I found this post about coke... minta maaf... bukan fikiran saya anyway here goes: pls read it with a pinch of (coke) Coke !!! For those of u who love Coke/Pepsi... Just when you thought you knew everything.... To clean a toilet : Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl. Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers : Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals : Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. To loosen a rusted bolt : Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. To remove grease from clothes : Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield. AND WE DRINK THIS STUFF ! ! ! The truth about Coke Pepsi and Others. 1.. Look at the wrapper on a Coca-Cola 1.5 litre bottle and in the ingredients you will find phosporic acid in it. Minute quantities of ethylene glycol is also used (which is acknowledged in the soft drink world for making it "really chill"). This is popularly known as anti-freeze which prevents water from freezing at 0 deg C and instead drops it by 4-5 degrees with minute quantities. This chemical is a known slow poison in the caliber of arsenic. So, if you manage to drink about 4 litres of Coke within an hour or so, you can die. 2.. Guess what's the pH for soft drinks, e.g. Coke? pH 3.4! This acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops building bones at the age of about 30. After that it'll be dissolving about 8-18% of the bones each year through the urine depending on the acidity of the food intake (acidity does not depend on the taste of the food, but on the ratio of potassium / calcium / magnesium / etc. to phosphorus). All the dissolved calcium compounds accumulate in the arteries, veins, skin tissue, organs. This affects the functioning of the kidney (kidney stones). 3. Soft drinks do not have any nutrition value (in terms of vitamins & minerals). It is high in sugar content, carbonic acid, chemicals i.e.colorings etc. Some like to take cold soft drinks after each meal.Guess what's the impact? Our body needs an optimum temperature of 37degrees Celsius for digestive-enzyme functioning. The temperature of cold soft drinks is very much below 37 degrees or even close to 0 degrees Celsius. This will dilute the enzymes & stress the digestive system. The food taken will not be digested. In fact it will be fermented! The fermented food produces gases, decays and becomes toxin, gets absorbed by the intestine, circulates in the blood stream and is carried to the whole body. Hence toxin is accumulated in other parts of the body, developing into various diseases. 4. Think before you drink Coke/Pepsi (or any soft drink)again. Have you ever thought what you drink when you drink an aerated drink? You gulp down carbondioxide, when nobody in the world would advise you to drink CO2. Think before you drink Coke/Pepsi (or any soft drink) again. 5. There was a competition at Kent State University-"Who could drink the most Coke?" The winner drank 8 bottles and fainted on the spot -- too much CO2 in the blood. Thereafter, the principal banned all soft drinks from the college canteen ! While this might have been an extreme measure, the results do provide some food for thought. Did you know that soft drinks use chemicals in them that cause immense harm to you. Someone put a broken tooth in a bottle of Pepsi and in 10 days it DISSOLVED! Can you believe it? Teeth and bones are the only human parts that stay intact for years after death. Imagine what the drink must be doing to your soft intestines and stomach lining! |

hahaha ! i think chinkiasu will now come back with a 'study' on cafffiene content in tea, coffee, coke etc....hahaha ! anyway, from what i remember, the caffiene content in tea is even less than half as coffee per cup.....and in addition ..tea contains polyphenols which is said to slow down or regulate the caffiene absorption into the body .... ok, let's wait for the 'offical' write up from our ' master of all subjects ' chinkiasu ...hahaha ! as to the sin part ....the Creator is the final Judge.... |

Good Morning Folks... Happy Day!!!! News from CNN... Stocks bounce back after last week's selloff as credit market fears subside and helped by some deal making activity. NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Last week's stock market selloff came to an end Monday with major gauges finishing higher, helped by cooling credit markets fears and a bit of deal making on Wall Street. The Dow Jones industrial average (up 92.84 to 13,358.31, Charts) climbed by as much as 131 points, before paring some gains and finishing 92 points, or 0.7 percent higher. The broader S&P 500 (up 14.96 to 1,473.91, Charts) surged 1 percent higher, while Nasdaq composite index (up 21.04 to 2,583.28, Charts) closed up 0.8 percent. Stocks struggled at the start of Monday's session, but moved higher after Wall Street's recent fears about the housing and credit markets subsided. "A number of brokerage firms and economic strategists have reached the conclusion that the problems in the credit market do not imply that the economy and earnings are going to go into a tailspin ," said Hugh Johnson, chief strategist for ThomasLloyd Global Asset Management. |

great cool idea re chilling out...yongjiu..!! oh yes indeed the Château Duhart Milon Rothschild is a Fourth Classed Growth. I supposed you got the 2002 year.. frankly, I doubt it is worth getting wines costing more than US100 for the older years (except perhaps for the snob value...). The Carruades de Lafite I understand itself is made from the fruit of vines that exceed, on average, 40 years of age and is the second wine of the Chateau. With up to 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a greater proportion of Merlot I think it would suit most Singaporeans... btw, my auntie bunnie has gone awandering again... I hope she got back from GZ in one piece.. her last posting was she would be back that day.... hope she has not caught the fluis or mauled by the bear ....they like to eat bunnies.. |

Eh Basheer.... It's "What in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"....... not "the same" Anyway "Invest"sounds more professional. Unlike words like 'play', 'dabble', 'punt'. Here's to our investments......Cheers |

hahaha ! actually , if not mistaken, we have people from 18 to beyond retirement age in here... ! hmmm .... good point ..... but i was thinking along the line of work and play .... for most of us ,this is not our real work , ...we are playing with the extra dollar we have after all the basics needs have been taken care of ....hence the term is used loosely ..... "a rose by any name will still smell the same "..... play , invest .... |
