LOWER FUEL PRICES AID RECOVERY UPGRADE TO BUY - Jet fuel prices 7% lower in 1QFY13 - Recovery in core operations expected - JVs to absorb aircraft deliveries in FY13 The SGD-adjusted jet fuel price (JETKSIFC Index) is currently trading at 10% below the average of jet fuel prices in the current quarter, which is in turn 7% QoQ lower. Since fuel cost contributes to more than 40% of Tiger Airways’ (TGR) operating costs, it should be able to achieve ~S$5m of savings in fuel cost in 1QFY13. Tiger Australia will begin operations in Sydney as its second base in 2QFY13 and Tiger Singapore will be moderating its capacity expansion in FY13. With Tiger Australia flying more sectors and lowering its unit fixed cost and Tiger Singapore more focused on improving yields and load factors, TGR’s profitability is poised to considerably improve in FY13. Factoring in lower jet fuel prices and the expected improvement in TGR’s operations, we upgrade TGR’s rating to BUY and increase our fair value estimate of TGR from S$0.67/share to S$0.76/share. The Sg market don't move at one go for all the stocks. Usually some are laggards, some move very little and some don't move at all. In fact there are some who drop whether in bull or in bear times. They say, the various stocks take turn to move. Maybe today is Tiger's turn after bullishness returns to the market. |

haha u got 1million shares? at great discount? wat is ur average price u bought? the lowest i can see is abt 0.22 which is at the peak of crisis n u managed to eye tat particular price or ur average is actually much much higher? anyway Temasek had screwed up many many time in terms of their shares purchase (creative, chartered semicond, city bank, etc) n this is so well known in the stock mkt so dont use Temasek as reference....cheers maybe the price can go up true but there r many better ones when mkt chiong, n worst still the volume is so small u cant even sell ur 1 million shares in same day. another way for the price to chiong up is shares consolidation i.e 10 : 1, (from 0.375 to 3.75) by doing so it can qualify for institutes purchase. Then probably Temasek can buy some more otherwise Temasek cant even buy stock like 0.375 price......sad. only shorties will be interested in this counter, not institute players. so it is speculative n not investible stock.

1) Tiger has a substantial shareholder (SIA) who is starting their own budget airline Scoot come June. It is a fierce and direct competitor with a slightly better reputation than Tiger (who is near the lowest low) although no one really knows how Scoot will run the budget airline. 2) The suspension of their Aussie domestic routes haven't been fully 'restored'. 3) qtr report is due and investors are curious how it has improved since the big saga. These factors prob weigh in on it share px. (humble opinion)

Strange but true facts about stocks is, just when you thought it will go down. It actually defy logic - go up instead. Anal-lysis report can sound pessimistic now and in one or 2 weeks, the same one wrote the report can change tone. Sometime cannot really understand. This ppl get paid to write. BBs can ride on them for advantage and play. There are potential. Hard to predict and hard to get evidence that the writing was influence by some external factors- just suspect not accusing. Later kanna legal case. Reiterate, not acusing but generally thinking out loud. On why some same reporters, change their tone within a very short time from the last one and opposing content. Tiger Airways Holdings Limited will announce its financial results for the financial year ended 31 March 2012 on 18 May 2012. Will the result affect the share price? Plus, 'Sell in May' saying..... I anticipate the share price will slide further. What do u think? |

Scoot is a total different concept with Tiger. Tiger only fly cities within a 5 hrs radius but Scoot only fly cities above the 5 hr radius. One is long-haul lcc, one is short-haul lcc. Furthermore, I doubt both management will eat into each other since technically they are on the same side " SQ" . Tiger main concern now is fuel price, as long as it remain at this level, it difficult for them to break level in profit and this could affect their stock price. This stock is for long-term, only short-term gain or dip could be just speculation. This is my 2 cents. Not vested but looking to enter if the price is right.

I beg to differ... Firstly i feel everyone playing right now are just the small investors trying their luck. If there's any price hike (seems so meager), it's because of shit stirring by investors who have yet to cut loss. Secondly, scoot, an extremely strong competitor is coming up. And that report on Mandala was quite bullshit actually. Doesn't change much of a thing. Doesn't prove anything. To each his own. This is an open forum. Correct me if i'm wrong. |
