Keppel Corporation Limited announced that Keppel Shipyard Ltd has secured three conversion contracts with an initial combined value of S$103 million. The contracts are from PTSC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Perenco Group and BC Petroleum Sdn Bhd. The contract from PTSC Asia Pacific, which is a joint venture between PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) and Yinson Holdings Berhad (Yinson), is to convert a tanker to a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit. The second contract is from Perenco to convert a tanker to a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit. The third contract is from BC Petroleum for the modification and upgrading of a tanker to an Early Production Vessel, EPV Balai Mutiara. (Closing Price: $11.06, -1.07%) | |||||||||||||||||||||

Kep CorpKep Corp: Results above expectations. 2Q rev at $3.5b +52.2% yoy -22.5% qoq Net profit was $520.9m +35.4% yoy -44.1% qoq. Net profit was boosted by profits from recognition of Reflections of Keppel Bay (70% JV with Kep Land), similar to last quarter but should not see these earnings repeated in 2H12. O& M continued to perform with 1H segment rev up 60% yoy due to higher volume of work although operating margins saw a decline from 15.1% to 13.1%. This was partly due to lower priced contracts won after the global financial crisis. The division has net orderbook of $7.6b with deliveries extending into 2015 A $0.18 dividend per share has been declared. Co currently trades at 11.8x P/E. Deutsche has TP at $13.70 and maintains Buy. CIMB has TP $14.80 and maintains Buy.

Maybank Kim Eng raised its target price on Singapore's Keppel Corp Ltd Keppel shares were down 0.6 percent at S$11.17. The stock ended 1.6 percent higher on Thursday ahead of the results. Keppel reported a 35 percent rise in net profit and the results came ahead of market expectations. While Keppel's operating margin for offshore and marine stood at 13.2 percent in the quarter, Maybank remained optimistic that full-year margins would come within its expectation of 14-16 percent. " A tight rig market with rising utilisation rates and an aging rig profile would continue to support the rig-building business," Maybank said. DMG & Partners Securities raised its target price on Keppel Corp to S$13.80 from S$13.60, after increasing its earnings per share estimate by 15 percent for 2012 fiscal year and by 1 percent for 2013. Results from Keppel (Courtesy SGX) 1. Net profit improved 83% to S$1,272million,compared to 1H2011’s S$696million. 2. Earnings Per Share of 71.0cents, up 81% from 1H2011’s 39.2cents. 3.
