Haha...well said winsontkl, S'pore being a small (but STRONG) economy that is dependent on the Global Economy will surely have to bear the fallouts. Funds ultimately have to withdraw where they still have funds and 'patched up' holes elsewhere - it is a movement of funds not by design. The Jappy's carry trade is strange - borrow at 0% and sell or lend at a leverage. And the Govt still feel comfortable with it! Cheers! |

With the cutting of interest rate, may slow down the selling force or do slight enhance of human tension... As many has been sellling their shares like mad over the past few weeks... It takes two weeks for the financial to drop below STI 3000.. And it took 6 months for the STI to gain to 3500... I personally feel that the fear of the individuals are still greatly affected by the bearish... Monday may be a gain, but it will not substain as the Sub-prime Loan greatly affect the future and you could see Singapore is greatly affected by the countries around us....Now it may just be the Sub-prime loan, but there may be bad debts that had not been announce as the future is very unpredictable.... FL is also badly affect by the sentiments.... |

Present situation is affecting markets globally. As ten4one stated, everything looks promising for S'pore and "sub-prime fallout is just a drops in the oceans", WHY the FALLOUT????? Well, looking in perspective our economy is closely interlinked between all countries and vice versa. With the aid of IT, information became readily available. This enhance financial instruments or simply make it more complex for our understanding, but one thing for sure is that it is closely intertwine together all over. Hence, one factor fell out of Sync (eg. Sub-prime Loan) with the rest, the triggering effect is unimagineable. Like dominoe effects, from a contained issue in US, it is hitting gloablly badly, almost contagion effects!!!! Sube-Prime Loan to Credit Crunched to Investment Funds Redemption to Margin Call to????? (Possibilities of Carry Trade in JPY) etc. Frightening!!! Not to sound bearish, only my personal assumption / perception and I may read the market wrong. Waiting for the right entry price eventhough now look attractive and tempting. Anyway, trade with care and happy hunting. |

I feel this 'correction' is good for the Market. At least, it released some hot airs from the ballon waiting to blow. The only problem is how much more hot airs have to be released before the sky is cleared again. How I wish I know that...hehe! The only logic I know is Mr Market is not a logical Guy now or ever. If logic prevailed, then the STI should be doing well with all the good Corpn's earning reports, jobs creation, Economy running fine, IRs, F1... etc...etc. Moreover, it was also confirmed that our Financial Institutes involvement in the sub-prime fallout is just a drops in the oceans. Where is the logic? It doesn't make sense isn't it?.........then again, it is the Stock Market where logic could be way-off the mark and still people keep coming back for more....and knowing all that is enough for me to be in the Frontline..................! Cheers! |

Volatile day with the stock drop to a low of 12.5 cents and closing at 13.5 cents. Total 6m over shares traded. Hit by STI dropping more than 180 points and breaking thru the 2300 level at one stage before recovering. With the Federal reserve lowing interest rate by 0.5 basis, seems to improve the setiment as Europe and US market move higher. Are we out of the wood???? Does the sub-prime loan issue which trigger off the meltdown has been effectively resolved??? The JPY carry trade see another immenent eruption as the FX is moving higher and cost of fund more expensive - another area of concern??? Tempted to buy but logic is preventing me from jumping in yet...... PS: Only for the Brave Heart. |

Can pick up at 12c and keep it in the freezer for the next 5 years. You should be able to get handsome dividends in 5 years time. Better than putting your $$$ in FD. Caveat Emptor. |

I doubt there could be less speculation when the Company's shares are reduced or increased for that matter; and The Company doesn't controll the share price. It is up to the Market's forces. When FL bought back their shares, they'll be treated as Treasury Shares captured in the Balance Sheet as Other Reserves in the Equity A/C of the Company (thus reducing the Equity). The purchase will be financed from the Working Capital or Revenue Reserve after providing for the Company's future needs. You may term it as a form of dividends for S/Holders. Cheers! |

when the company start to buy back the share from the market, the voulme of share in the market will reduce so less speculation and more control that result in less falling of company share. This company is buying their share back from the market. |

Of course A Company can't beat the Market and it is never the intention of the company to beat the Market and vice versa. The Market is the place to trade (willing Buyers willing Sellers). If the Company could buy-back from the Market at a price that is below its book-value, it will do so for the benefit of its Shareholders. And don't forget there is also a limit number of shares that a Company could buy-back from the open Market which must be approved by Shareholders. FL's fundamentals have not changed, although technically the trend is still down due to the volatility and uncertainties. At 14c it is a steal in MHO. Then again, you maybe able to get cheaper,...............who knows????????? |

Many investors has been burnt badly this round, look likely fall of 100 over points has gradually become a norm. Fortunately, FL only drop by 0.5 cents with 6m over share traded. Showing signs of support and resistance, nearing its old support base of 13 cents when this thread first started off. Many supporters of FL must have a great time picking up cheap stock. However, do bear in mind, we are not out of the wood YET...... do trade with care. |

Only problem is no $ otherwise would also consider this counter, a little slow, but definitely a fundalmentally good co. Vested, hopefully Co would take this opportunity to do more share buy back at this cheap price. The other consideration is during a rebound, I want to be in the counters that rebound first, FL unfortunately not in the first liners. |
