slimsk... I will like to repeat that I consider TA to be something best self-taught by studiously learning the rudiments from books and then developing your own skills through a few years of practical experience. Such cannot be 'taught'. There is no shortcut. However, stock tips is another story.... |

slimsk... Regarding bottoms, there is even a triple bottom sometimes... and this is not a joke, really... ) It is not unusual that the more 'senior' members are obviosly not too keen to attend Simon's session (judging by the attendance). This is understandable if one bears in mind that although they may be keen to share their experience in the forum, these senior members not as keen as the relatively new members to hear the same guidance which they already know. |

iPunter you also sound like a TA expert, would u be interested to hold a knowledge sharing session? Once you've done it, the next time will be easier. Just quoting u. ; ) |

Kudos again to Simon and fortunegal. Glad to have helped out in a small way by calling the attendees. It was a truly interesting session where I've learnt much. I hope we can have a second session to really delve into TA and learn "how to fish" as we didnt have enough time during this session and Simon also didnt have enough time to prepare in detail for it. Must say the notes that he has prepared is already very impressive and he must have spent many days and nites on it! Thanks again Simon! Just a note of caution to beginners like myself. It is difficult to be able to correctly interprete the future trend of the charts and as pointed out by Yongjiu, a bottom might still see another bottom (double bottom) or there might also be double peaks so we'll have to exercise caution in applying our newly gained knowledge. That said, i hope the session will help everyone to make better analysis and to reap in better profits. Will be great if some other forumers like Singaporegal, also an expert on TA or Victorian, an expert on FA could also share her/his knowledge. Then we'll be a true fellowship at the Share Junction! |

Fortunegal... Aiya... once you've doen it once, the next time will be easier, right? I mean the stocks learning session, and not what some individuals will instantly and 'conditionedly' jump on to conclude...:( |

By the way, trading commodoties futures is more like trading warrants exclusively... They have expiry dates and are highly leveraged too (unlike stocks). |

hahaha... Like I said in another thread here... it is best to be self-taught when it comes to TA... Books on TA are usually quite comprehensive and most of the pricier ones have information on the more advanced aspects too... Martin Pring's basic book may have touched on Fibonacci, but I forgot because when I bought his book, it was so long ago and I have lost his book long ago. But the other books like John Murphy and Magee, etc are more valuable and advanced and they treat TA in a more indepth degree. All my TA books are bought when I was trading commodities futures many, many years back. |

hi guys, thanks for the compliments! But we really need a break! busy for 2 weeks...i am always checking my emails and busy ticking who had replied me etc.. etc.....and the emails...the calls..sms... to inform everyone of the time change... geojam, sorry...correction...initially that's the title but i took a real look today at the front page title n simon change the title to "Basic and Fundamental of Stock and Share Investing". This is because Simon was so busy with the basic and fundamental that he got no time to do the slides on the TA. We only see for 35 mins on TA charts...very rushed due to the lack of time. Simon said no point we cover the charts...we can profit a few K or a few hundred Ks...but in the end, without the basic and fundamental knowledge, we return back all the profit to the stock market...or even loss more. |

Thanks fortunegal it is a really our GOOD FORTUNE to have you in this forum, Now may i table a motion that Simon to continue his good work and as a coninuation for his first lecture he can guide us all on, "How to use Metastock to do Short Term Trade?" as a second lecture. I really like the concept of short term trade as pointed out by Simon, beside the compounding effect i think it is also less risky but the entry and exit must be well tuned otherwise is will be counter productive. Any seconders for this motion! |
