SINGAPORE, Sept 9 (Reuters) - Casino operator Genting Singapore (GENS.SI) said on Wednesday it will raise S$1.63 billion ($1.15 billion) in a rights issue, confirming an earlier Reuters story.

The firm will offer shareholders one rights share for every five held at S$0.80 a share.

Genting, a unit of Malaysia's Genting Bhd (GENT.KL), said the funds raised will strengthen its balance sheet, enhance its financial flexibility and facilitate future business expansion.

The issue will be fully underwritten by DBS Bank (DBSM.SI), CIMB-GK Securities, J.P. Morgan (JPM.N), RBS (RBS.L), CLSA, Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE), HSBC (HSBA.L)and UBS (UBSN.VX) (Reporting by Kevin Lim; Editing by Saeed Azhar)

 Alert Admin 		i don't think it will impact the current price greatly, it's 1 right share for every 5 shares, and the right price is pretty high at 80 cents, I believe the price is still well above $1 after they lift the trading halt.

ya me still holding on it. of cos at tat time shut down everything din go and see until recently, see it moving was relief a bit.

cos when it went down to 0.60 tat time i was cash tight din buy in cos still got many counters on hand oso.

so when yesterday it reaches 1.20 was so happy tis morning heard halt haiz.....

hope tis genting can help me to recover some of my losses since last year. btw, my malaysian friend ask me not to sell hold till the day b4 the casino open.

 Alert Admin 		make a bit let go liao...dun greed to wan to reap large $.....in this very volatile time, hard cash most important....the other day i sold half my portfolio then went to bank to cash out.....damn shiok to hold the cash in my hand....only when u reap profit then can buy other counters....if not all is just paper profit....
