Hi jessie, I avoid pennies not because the companies are not good but because I find it extremely difficult to do TA on them. They don't behave in the "correct" manner. Its a simple as that. |

Hi Singaporegal, Thank you for your reply. I must say that you are very discipline and stick to your trading methods/rules. You are not tempted to buy penny stocks even though pennies are in play :) |

Hi jessie, Yes, I buy shares above S$1.50 (sometimes > $1) because I find penny stocks to be subject to too much volatility and manipulation. |

EastonBay: I'm still only a dabbler in TA at best. Think most TA newbies in SJ would have singaporegal amongst one of their idols. Her article on "Confessions of a TA Purist" is one that i found really useful for trend-riding. Having said that, the skill set that i really want to master is Fundamental Analysis (FA - here you go bensonho!). Absolutely amazed at how investors can make earnings that are many fold their initial investments. where can i get the article ? im still a noob in TA. |

Sojourner: Thanks for the reminder. Always good to keep a lid on one's emotions, TP/SL. I've been vested in CSC for a while now and i intend to hold on to it for a while (or rotate as necc to another property/construction counter) as i remain optimistic over the construction sector. EastonBay/Fortunegal: I'm not really a supporter of CSC per se, merely a lover of potential profit. Furthermore, i suspect there'd be more that i could learn from the both of you rather than the other way around as i'm still rather new to the stock market - only 2.5 years. Nonetheless, i wouldn't mind meeting up to discuss about trading and investment techniques with fellow traders/investors. My MSN/e-mail is tony_ong76@hotmail.com. Sojourner, join in too! It'd be great to meet up again. |

Hi synaspe and eastonbay, Thanks for the compliments but I'm nobody's idol lah... If you follow my postings, I am wrong on many occasions. My recent right-wrong ratio is around 60-65%. The trick to successful trading is to quickly bail out when you're proven wrong. |

Synapse, i'm in it quite late, only coz i noticed the startling uptrend. have no idea when the contracts will be announced, but be wary of the buy on rumour, sell on news trend. Fortunegal, GMMA is invented by Daryl Guppy. I haven't used it much, but the multiple lines make the chart more attractive! See this link. |

EastonBay n Synapse, wonder if we CSC supporters can have a small gathering and just talk on TA. haha. err nevermind i know u all are busy ppl. anyway, i know MACD, B Bands, Moving Averages, RSI, Stohastics, but poor in drawing lines like support n resistance. And i like the way you manage your portolio like "track the dates when contra players are likely to close off their account.....set a price target to accumulate as long as it meets my criteria." it seems like i got this part missing in my spreadsheet for CSC cos there is no analysis reported on target price for CSC. normally i write down the target price only if there is a analysis target price on it. sojourner, notice u use ChartNexus. I use it too cos it is free! :o) The 4 green 1 red (downtrend - to sell) or 4 red 1 green (uptrend-to buy) thingy on MACD which i learn from decipher is really helpful! Btw, what is the name of the last Indicator in the picture below? i can't find it. i dont use it too. if u okie, explain a bit. thanks. |

Sojourner: You're in this too? Looks like there's strength in this counter and it hasn't fallen below the MAs in quite a bit. I am looking forward to when the nexst sets of results are posted as some of the milestone payments stemming from the IR project would be reflected. The cashflow would certainly look better. CSC looks quite bullish as of last Fri. Enjoy the ride while it lasts. Not an inducement to trade. |

Synapse, thanks for answering my question. I am more of a FA person as in I believe more in buying the biz fundamental. It must be a sound biz for me before anything else. It works for me so far but sometimes it takes a lot of patience because some of these 'good' stocks are just not on the radar screen of market makers. To tell you frankly I have only recently learnt from Elf an important lesson, quote "do what the BBs do and not what they said". The credit goes to her. That's when I started tracking the trading volume and price level. That helps me in making some buy and sell decision.. However, I'm not too diligent in doing homework (like what you mentioned) and therefore often 'forget' about the dates. I am also picking up a little technical readings like what singaporegal advocates, B-bands, Williams, RSI, Chaikin. /Still very lousy at it. A lot to learn from you in this respect! |

Hi EastonBay, that's exactly what i do. To elaborate, i have a watch list of trading stocks and another for mid to long-term investments. Keeping track of technical conditions for the stocks in my portfolio, esp those in my trading list and the list of mid to long-term stocks which have experienced a rush, i look out for indicators such as Vol, B-bands, MACD, and candlestick formations, as well as track the dates when contra players are likely to close off their account. I would then set a price target to accumulate as long as it meets my criteria. Do you do the same thing? |

Synapse: does that mean you keep track of the trading volume and the dates? so that when t+3, or +5 comes, you check the action on those days again? thnx |

T+3 has worked well for me, esp on counters where there's heavy volume. Easier to get the stock i want at the right quanties and around my desired price. Tradingstarted with a married deal involving 1.5M shares at 43 cts, and ended with another married deal of abt 700K shares at 43.5 cts. Block force of 15M shares seen established at 45 cts. This baby will start playing catch up with Yongnam soon. |

fortunegal: afaik there is no screen to see but it is pure logical deduction. 28 Jun 07 SGX official announcement of good news of stock A appear, contra whack in at 28 Jun 07 hoping to sell to other ppl at a profit. 28 Jun 07 + 3 = 03 Jul 07 so ard 3 or even 4 Jul if they got grace period by broker will be the time force selling starts for ppl who no monies to pay up. then another group of contra whack in ard 03, 04 Jul we call the second wave and so on. after a few rounds all contra left to play other counters liao. BB can then push the price up and block at desired price.assumption is price rise always based on good news released. |
