Hi Youteik, fundamentals is an important factor to look at. But that largely depends on your trading style also. If you are a short-term movmentum player, you may want to pay more attention to Candle Stick, Volume and other indicators. |

thanks elfin. your words do make sense to me.. i fell to the trap on the Black Monday, i.e. 14 May 07 which I bought 10 lots of shares with average price of 1.10. Initially I thought I can against the market and pick some cheap stocks and hoping for the JP Morgan Target Price of 1.75. At the end, I have lost more. Now, with this experience, I know that before we buy any stock, we have to look at the fundamentals (cashflow, P&L, P/E, ROE etc.). Cheers... |

ack....just saw the gems charts. flatter than an airport run-way. not good. scarily, it's not done dropping yet. >~< gege, i don't even think 67c will be a support. yea, rayphua has it right: never lower your stop losses. altho, hm. for FA ppl they will buy in when it's lower to DCA, but then, that's a totally dif trading style from TA method. bottomline is to find a method that suits you, and never break your own basic rules. no quarrels abt FA vs TA or whatever. just pragmatism: if it suits you and works for you, take it. |

Hi Ray, totally agree with you... when I first started trading, I lost quite a bit of money mostly because I did not know when I must cut my losses... When a counter fell and kept going south, I were always reluctant to let go, instead, I tend to hold it & pray for some miracles to happen (ie. BB push the price up again etc.) -- so most of the time, I end up losing more... We need to analyze the Profit & Risk before we commit any trading, we need to clearly give ourselves a cut-loss price and never lower it becuase of HOPEs. When it is time to CUT, we need to CUT and move on... |

So correct, Elfin. If I may add: Trading is a 49% to 51% game to most retail investors. 49% you profit, 51% you make losses (commissions roughly factored). TA, FA, and market psychology can perhaps help leverage your winning percentages higher than 49%. But without those leverages, in order to profit in the long run, you'll need to maintain strict stop losses, and let your profits ride. Practice trailing stops when you are in the money to protect your profits. Never average downwards or lower your stop losses. Remember, a paper loss is a loss. With everything else equal, as long as you can ride your profits bigger on the good counters and maintain small losses on the bad investments, you will be able to profit in the long run. For personal improvement, you may want to visit this site. It has interesting articles. http://www.brettsteenbarger.com/articles.htm |

yeps youteik, that's the spirit. remember the lessons, cos long term, that's what enables you to make profit. and yea, guess as investors, there's always a tendency to focus on our losers. but must focus on overall portfolio. that's how you measure a good investor. sometimes, have to cut, must cut. kudos to you, and it's ok, i'm very sure you'll make back on your next investment. ;) and yep w6m9hi (difficult to type your name! wail): that's how the market plays. that's why long term, most small timers tend to lose. but learn to read between the lines. either learn some FA or TA, it'll def help in long term. no pt blaming the BBs. they control the market. we just follow. use what is to your advantage. it'll never be a level playing field, it'll always be unfair. so the sooner small fries like us learn, the better we can be at this game of investing. don't lose heart, k people? learn and move on. and rem above all: the one emotion you MUST control when trading: greed. you master your money, not the other way around. cheers all! |

Now I wondering why the analyst always recommends us to buy when the stock is heading south. Still remember JP Morgan target price is 1.75 after the result released. Where is that analyst now?? |

If I am correct, this share start trading at 10 Nov 2006, thus after 10 May 2007, and pre-IPO share placement can throw which is saying they can dispose it free in the market. Hope I am correct, this is the market usual practice. Good Luck. |
