Yes, I pocketed profit on that day (10 Sept) because of the rights issue. It is not attractive at all. Will buy back this counter after nil-rights trading if the price is right.

those who managed to cut loss at 1.14 ~1.17 on 10 sept (when trading resumed) are in a much better position than those still holding and hoping for a rebound. can buy cheap now but may get cheaper as the BB are finding hard to support 1.05. |

Genting for short term no good. Buy and you may lose in the immediate term. Hold for longer term and you might benefit from price swings upwards owing to ppl's sentiment about the upcoming casino and resorts which will make profit in an upturn economy. | ||||

tonylim - I totally supported your views. Analysts future TP are numbers only.That what they think. Analyse protential future earnings.Can it be acheived is anybody guess. Bear in mind that the co. can oso lose a bomb. Game over.

Star Cruises is proposing to change its name from “Star Cruises Limited” to “Genting Hong Kong Limited”. “The proposed change of company name is to align with the corporate strategy of the company in diversifying into land-based integrated resorts, casino and entertainment businesses, in addition to its existing principal businesses of cruise and cruise related operations,” says Star Cruises. “It also reflects the Company’s primary place of listing and its affiliation with the Genting Group. Genting Berhad, the holding company of the Genting Group of companies, is listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and is a substantial shareholder of the Company indirectly.” Star Cruises says that the new company name will provide the company with a more appropriate identification and image which will benefit the company’s future business development and is in the interest of the company and the shareholders as a whole. The change is subject to the approval by the Shareholders by way of a special resolution at a Special General Meeting. |
