Midas Holdings' profits fell 53.3% to CNY17.1mIt's just the tip of the iceberg. According to OCBC Investment Research, Midas Holdings' PATMI dipped 53.3% to CNY17.1m. This was however still above its expectations. Here's more: Revenue rose 2.6% YoY to CNY216.5m. For FY12, revenue fell 19.5% to CNY869.5m, or 2.6% above our forecast. PATMI of CNY27.9m represented an 85.1% decline, but was still well ahead of our CNY6.8m forecast as its associated company Nanjing SR Puzhen Rail Transport (NPRT) turned in a surprising CNY20.0m share of profits in 4Q12, a stark contrast to the CNY25.7m share of loss for 9M12. We believe that this could be due to recovery of expenses arising from transfer of certain metro projects due to regulatory requirement. This might be one-off in nature and we will seek further clarity with management later. A final DPS of 0.25 S cent was declared, which was half of the preceding year, but in line with our forecast. Total DPS for FY12 equates to 0.50 S cent |

0.544 is our pivot point. Our preference: target 0.456. Alternative scenario: the upside breakout of 0.544 would call for 0.575 and 0.593. Comment: the RSI is below 50. The MACD is below its signal line and positive. The MACD must penetrate its zero line to expect further downside. Moreover, the stock is trading under its 20 day MA (0.55) but above its 50 day MA (0.5). Finally, Midas is trading below its lower daily Bollinger band (standing at 0.52). Alvingsy : tmr price drop? I don't think so. Orderbook with 3 billion + RMB on hand and march got more project coming to midas. Tmr sure will rebound. Time to collect now. 0.60 is the tp for friday | ||||||||

Glad to know that Midas still gives 0.25 cents dividend despite facing poor result... something good is better than nothing. I am still holding onto mine at 0.85. |
