OCBC Investment Research in a Jan 7 research report says: "Genting Singapore (GS) will partially open its integrated resort from 20 Jan 2010, with the operation of four of its six hotels; we think that the casino and USS should open soon once GS obtains the relevant approvals. Meanwhile, the Casino Regulation Authorities (CRA) of Singapore has laid out some pretty strict rules for junket operators.

"We note that the regime increases the level of oversight expected of the casino operators here, as the regulations leave the onus of maintaining the integrity of junkets to the casino operators. However, the strict regime is not unexpected. The latest developments may seem to be negative for Genting Singapore, but we believe that there should not be any lingering impact as Genting could easily develop its own VIP program, which could also help to improve margins.

"Based on more positive tourism arrival expectations, we have further revised up our estimates for FY10 and this in turn boosts our DCF-based fair value from $1.31 to $1.39. Although the upside from the current share price is under 10%, we believe that the positive sentiment of RWS’ impending opening is likely to see the stock substantially overshoot our fair value. MAINTAIN BUY."

Gent has been one stock that keep alot of forumers talking (by almost everyone). Gent SP have to move, just like when is it stuck at $1.08ct n stay there for awhile.

All news is out liao, oni news is getting a gambling licence, then sell, if he/she can afford to pay up at $1.29cent to keep it for a while. (from CNA Forumer)

Bot up lately is not late considering the play time period is till Mar/April 2010 B4 it open it IR door. Where $ in concern, when Gent SP need to find alot more money to sustain their ever growing operation here and in their expansion role. BBs may took profit and again RAM (Run And Move) up to ask everyone to invest again, this time not at such price as 0.80ct. just maybe a 20-25% discount from it last trading (future price). This can happen.....(assume, if. I'm d owner). 
It is better to keep some on averaging up, have some money as well in ur pocket after bot it at a high, if not wait liao till Mar / April 2010 for other to buy higher...then U have to pump in the 4th time 

Gent SP closed lower today to $1.24ct down -0.03ct on profit taking. Vol: 174,111 lots

teeth53 tot: if it do not move up at this time of d year, then When ?., after d offical opening and those BBs will RAM again. Let it be seen.

Special packages for hotel rooms at Resorts World Sentosa

SINGAPORE: Tour agents in Singapore are launching special packages for hotel stays at Resorts World Sentosa, which is slated to open on January 20.

Reservations for the hotel rooms at the integrated resort will open only on January 11 at 10am. However, the integrated resort said it has received hundreds of calls on its reservations hotline.

Travel agents said while they are targeting markets like the US and the UK, their main focus will be visitors from around the region — including Indonesia, Hong Kong and China.

Other travel agents said they are offering hotel stays at Resorts World as part of a regional tour package to places like Malaysia, Bintan and Batam.

Alicia Seah, senior vice—president, Marketing and PR, Commonwealth Travel Service said: "We are expecting families, leisure travellers as well as business travellers, who are holding their incentive trips here in Singapore."

Moreover, those early birds who don’t mind the fact that the casino will not be ready until late January will get 30 to 40 per cent off the travel deals.

Judy Lam, group vice—president, Sales & Marketing, Tour East said: "The pre—opening packages can start from S$200 to S$300 for either a two—night package or a three nights’ package. The actual opening packages would start from about S$500."

During the soft launch, room rates at Resorts World’s three hotels — Hotel Michael, Festive Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel — are likely to range between S$400 per night for a regular deluxe room to S$3,000 for the presidential suite.

Las vegas casino has quite a 'fair' gaming rule whereby i think they return 90% of the money back to the players at the end of the day .   Whereas elsewhere(including Genting) , i am not sure if they hv such rules.

If i were to choose which casino i want to go, i will opt for Marina Bay for it is under the belt of Las Vegas. 

Anyway, the 2 IRs in singapore's profits should not soley come from Casino for, our government's main aim is not CASINO but to SELL our facilities for use by the world's  business conventions/meetings, exihibitons businesses, our food and our efficiency........If just based on earnings from Casino, we are no match for those operators in other countries and i believe our governmenmt is very smart of NOT emphasising only on earnings of casino.

The operators in the 2 IRs i believe, have to know the 'game' our governmnet is playing, for, they will be heavily taxed if their Casino earnings exceed certain amount.......

reports.It is your money,you analyse the reports and make your own
