Recent SGX anouncement notices that the major shareholders keep buying up this counter before the anouncement of the right issue and dividends........But the price keep pushing down, very strange leh..... Any comments... |

I believed it is not only me alone read this announcement on 22/11/2006. This may be one of the reason why the price rise until 18/12/2006. But not matter how, Federal's business is similar to Rotary and the profit is much better than last year. The bonus and right issue is not so bad. I heard that the CD day maybe in Jan. 2007. |

Hi lis_wang, It could be that the staff has posted this announcement before the embargo has lifted. Normally, announcement of such nature will need trading to be halted. Let see if ther is a halt request on this counter next week. Cheers. |

On 22/11/2006, I browsed Federal's website (http://www.federal.com.sg/, Investor Relationshop/news and announcement) and found there is a news announce on this day regarding the company will buy back the share from open market at $0.75. But on the second day (23/11/2006) about 8:30am, I tried to download the announcement PDF file and found that the annoncement was deleted. I was very surprised and I do not think I made a mistake as I also shew to my friend when I read the Federal's announcement on 22/11/2006. This announcement is linked to SGX's website's news and announcement, how can it be deleted less than 24 hours. Is there anybody read this announcement? |

The rise was probably due to the impending bonus dividend/rights issue. Some people then bought on the hope that the rise was due to some kind of super contract announcement. Then the news emerges that it was a dividend/rights issue. Not that this is a bad news, but it is rather underwhelming, in my view. So some people might be selling in disappointment. |

A proposed interim bonus dividend for the financial year ending 31 December 2006 ("a proposed renounceable non-underwritten rights issue (FY2006") of S$0.0875 less tax of 20% (or S$0.07 net) ("Bonus Dividend") per ordinary share of the Company ("Share") in respect of Shares held by shareholders of the Company ("Shareholders") as at a books closure date to be announced by the Company ("Books Closure Date").
