YoYo.... I am not a mathamatician.... but i do know the odds of 4D which is actually 50 : 50..... either u strike or did not strike... that simple...kekeke..

Guess it is no harm if it is small stake on toto & 4d. Spending 10 to 15% of one's paycheck is too execessive. i had a friend who won $300,000 the first time she bgt toto, she betted on just $3.50.

If poor and feel lousy, may try & blame an external factor (i.e. poverty; e.g. I have no friends cos I'm poor). If have $ and feel lousy, force to self-eval (e.g. I am rich and still have nobody to share). Yup, Elf, that's the "berserk" one -- I think it'll look more berserk if the eyes can roll in opposite direction. |

.. jokes aside ...the way I see it : the money Singapore Pools is raking in is a measure/indicator of the helplessness and the desperation of the heartlanders , the true blue original indigenous singaporeans ... don't mistake me: I have no qualms with the ploughing back of the money for other charitable causes .. it gets reincarnated in another useful form I just feel for the person whose monthly take home pay is about $1000 and bets at least $150 on lotteries .. 15% of his earning ... and hanging on to Hope ... sigh .... |

See NDP rally?? commodities still bad leh, AK's GAR eat grass liao. Analysts recommended to dump commd when market up trend, chialat, margin too wide. ha ha betting on stocks is 50/50 %, unlike other bets, you need permutation(maths rusty liao) to find out the respective probability of wining loh. with the above, betted on SemMarine, SGX n OCBC to try my luck my own liao. wish me good luck huh!! |

Mkt kinda slow today, hor? Think I'll go and read AK's jokes posted yesterday(?) in the Fellowship thread for our enjoyment. Yup, I also enjoy seeing Elf's emoticon. My favorite one is the "berserk" one. Speaking of lottery and hope, I'm reminded of a story...think it happened in Taiwan: A lottery ticket seller felt sorry for an old beggar(?), so she handed him some cash to buy food for himself. To her surprise, he took most of the $ to purchase lottery tickets from her (imagine her feeling?). Conseq, he did purchase a winning ticket. He returned and gave her a small portion of his winning. |

zzz market. elfie wants to go back to  . and yea, for the person, really, it's either one ticket or nothing. just as long as it can be controlled though; gambling is predominantly emotion-led. that's why most gamblers lose; not to mention games are always skewed for the house.
