UNIFIBER SECURES RM92.2 MILLION BUILDING CONTRACTS IN JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA

Description

The Board of Directors of United Fiber System Ltd (“Unifiber” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sin Poh Lian Sdn Bhd has been awarded building contracts worth RM92.2 million (or approximately SGD37.5 million) from Niceyear Development Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The contracts awarded consist of two developments projects located at Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru, and comprise in total 268 units of single-storey terrace houses, 588 units of double-storey terrace houses and 52 cluster houses. Construction is expected to commence in October 2009 and is scheduled to complete by September 2012.

The project is in line with the Group’s strategy to expand its presence in the construction industry in the region and is expected to contribute positively to the Group. Given the timing of the award, the project is not expected to have a material impact on the results for the year ending 31 December 2009.

None of the Directors or substantial shareholders of the Company have any interest, direct or indirect, in the above-mentioned transaction.

Look at the spikes in volumes for unifiber. Accumulation phase is over and next week it will shoot up upon any news effective on bringing in BBs.

if you can re-allocate your fund for better returns, it may be a blessing in disguise. Holding 400lots at 6.5cents and some borrowed by short sellers for trading --- it is a matter of time for it to move higher with good development.

just cleared most of my stocks 2 days back just holding to 5 lots now.

Made no gain no loss accecpt the brokerage fee which can be cover by my other trades.

Let see what happens ! I recall at good times it was trading at 0.32 cents can it reach that high again i wonder Smiley

Unifiber raises 15 million USD thru Bonds Issue and Share Subscription

Mainboard-listed forestry and construction firm United Fiber is raising more than 21.6 million dollars through the issue of convertible bonds and new shares.

The firm plans to raise 14.4 million dollars through convertible bonds.

The bonds will carry a coupon of 5 percent per annum and have a three-year maturity period.

The conversion price of the bonds has been fixed at 20 cents.

That represents a 204 percent premium over the volume weighted average price of Unifiber’s shares at the close of trade yesterday.

The firm also plans to issue more than 111 million new ordinary shares to raise about 7.2 million dollars.

At 6.46 cents a share, this is a 1.7 percent discount over Unifiber’s last traded share price.

Both the bond and share issue will need to be approved by the Singapore Exchange
