This is just the beginning of the biggest US Housing bubbles burst in history!!! Remember, "the optimist sees opportunity in every danger, the pessimist sees danger in every opportunity". Major correction maybe a good chance to bottom fish if you intend to stay long and do your homework promptly. I would recomend value stocks like SPH, Singtel, ST Engg, ComfortDelgo, SMRT...etc which are not only defensive, they pay good dividends. |

Vic, wonderful to see you posting again. Definitely see u in much better spirits then say a month ago. Believed that its timely that your course is held at such times, when the mkt has corrected. really makes the FA principles stand out, and I guess alot of people including me needs to learn to " shut out the noise" at this times, when we are sitting on what we believed to be fundamentally strong stocks. Thanks! tomorrow I believe is going to be another blood letting day. just gonna sit out the storm.... |

Thanks Victorian and Ray for your sharing. Well I am more of a "rojak" investor than technical investor but I have to admit "charts don't lie". I say I am part "rojak" as I am not a "die die must hold" even if market comes down...... |

Hi CheongSL, FYI... CapitaLand: Driven mainly by revaluation surplus Summary: CapitaLand (CapLand) reported a very strong set of 2Q07 results with revenue rising 21.2% YoY to S$936m and PATMI improving by 5.8 times to S$913m. The strong PATMI number was mainly due to the recognition of revaluation surplus of S$647.4m from its commercial assets and divestment gains and provision write-back worth S$134.5m. Excluding these one-off items, CapLand?s PATMI growth would have been more moderate but still strong at +127% YoY and 70% QoQ at S$130.8m. All segments did well, registering double-digit gains, with Singapore being the key earnings driver - making up 60% of group EBIT. In light of the massive revaluation surplus and better operating performance, we have adjusted our FY07 and FY08 forecasts to S$1.8bn and S$524m, up from S$819m and S$436m, respectively. However in terms of recommendation, CapLand is trading very close to our fair value of S$7.83, as such, we do not see much upside from current level and thus maintain our HOLD rating. |

Bottom fish in staggered way. Look at company results in today' newspaper : 1. Meiban posts 144% jump in H1 earnings. 2. ECS earnings rise 17.8% 3. Fibrechem doubles Q2 net profit. Keep cool.... |
